    • Another scorelesss start
Crochet (5-4) picked up the win Tuesday against Toronto, allowing two hits and one walk with four strikeouts over six scoreless innings.

Advice: Crochet has tossed 17 consecutive scoreless innings and earned a victory in each of his last four starts. While he fanned fewer than six batters for the first time in five starts, the 25-year-old retired the first 13 batters he faced. Since his ERA peaked at 6.37 on April 24, Crochet has yielded three runs over 28.0 innings to lower his ERA to 3.75 overall. He's lined up to close out the two-start week Sunday against the Orioles. • Jon Gray exits Tuesday start with groin tightness
Jon Gray was removed from Tuesday’s start against the Phillies with right groin tightness.

Advice: That explains why Gray was finished after just 75 pitches (50 strikes) over five frames in an abbreviated outing. The 32-year-old righty was charged with two runs on four hits with four strikeouts and three walks. The severity of the injury is a bit murky at the moment, but there should be some clarity on his status at some point in the near future. It’s unclear whether he’ll be ready to make his next start on Sunday against the Twins. Rotoworld Today, 6:38 pm

    • Exits start with groin tightness
Manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that Gray was removed from his start against the Phillies due to right groin tightness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gray was able to get through five innings before exiting his start, allowing two earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four batters. Bochy didn't specify how severe Gray's injury is, so it remains unclear if the right-hander is at risk of missing his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Sunday in Minnesota. • Crochet throws six scoreless innings vs. Blue Jays
Garrett Crochet pitched six scoreless innings while striking out four in the White Sox win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: You couldn’t have asked for a much better outing out of Crochet. While it wasn’t a dominating performance, the lefty held the Blue Jays’ lineup to just two hits, while walking only one batter. Crochet continues to be one of the few bright spots for the White Sox, as he’s now won five games on the season and is sporting an era of 3.75. Crochet will look to earn his sixth win in his next start, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Orioles. Rotoworld Today, 6:31 pm

    • Criswell allows two earned runs in win over Rays
Cooper Criswell allowed two earned runs over 5 1/3 innings in the Red Sox win over the Rays.

Advice: Criswell was solid in this one, and as now allowed three earned runs or less in each of his eight starts this season. Criswell ran into trouble in the first inning when he allowed three hits to his first four batters faced, with the third hit being a two-RBI single from Isaac Paredes. It was the only two runs Criswell would allow, as he was able to settle and allowed just two hits the rest of the way. Criswell will make his next start on Monday against the Orioles. • Kodai Senga (shoulder) resumes playing catch
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters on Tuesday that Kodai Senga (shoulder) has resumed playing light catch.

Advice: Senga was scratched from a scheduled bullpen session earlier this week due to triceps tightness, so the fact that he’s already back throwing already is encouraging. The 31-year-old righty remains in rehabilitation purgatory as he tinkers with his mechanics. At this point, it’s extremely difficult to pinpoint when he’ll be ready to return this season, if at all. • Gerrit Cole (elbow) not ruling out June return
Gerrit Cole (elbow) faced hitters on Tuesday in a 22-pitch live batting practice session.

Advice: Cole told reporters afterwards that he came out of facing hitters for the first time since landing on the injured list back in spring training without any issues. The 33-year-old fantasy ace added that he wouldn’t rule out a potential return at some point next month. He’ll presumably face hitters a couple more times before heading out for a handful of minor league rehab starts to build up his pitch count and stamina. Rotoworld Today, 1:31 pm

    • Plays light catch
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said that Senga (shoulder/triceps) played light catch Tuesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: Senga -- who is on the injured list with a right posterior shoulder capsule strain -- had to have a scheduled bullpen session Sunday scrapped due to right triceps tightness. The hope is that he'll be able to throw off a mound later this week, though, and it's a good sign that he was able to do any kind of throwing Tuesday. Senga's timetable for a return is open-ended. • Could return in June
Cole (elbow) faced live hitters Tuesday and will throw another live session this weekend, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Cole faced hitters for the first time since being shut down with elbow inflammation. He threw about 20 pitches in what's expected to be the first of two or three total live sessions. Cole will be eligible to return from the 60-day injured list before the end of May, but he'll require a multi-start rehab assignment and is still at least a few weeks away from making his season debut, likely at some point in June.
