    • Resting Wednesday
Moreno is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Advice: He'll be getting some routine maintenance after he caught nine innings and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in the Diamondbacks' 8-5 win Tuesday night. Tucker Barnhart will draw the start behind the plate Wednesday while Moreno rests. Rotowire.com Today, 10:16 am
    • Gets aboard three times in loss
Garcia went 2-for-4 with a walk, one stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Garcia is making excellent contact lately with multiple hits in nine of his last 16 games. He's gone hitless just three times in that span. It took a while for the third baseman to get into a rhythm at the plate, but the Royals stuck with him atop the lineup due to his speed. Garcia is slashing .267/.316/.398 with five home runs, 14 steals, 35 RBI, 40 runs scored, 12 doubles and three triples through 60 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 10:13 am
    • Mashes homer No. 10
De La Cruz went 1-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: He got the Marlins on the board with a solo shot off Ryan Pepiot in the first inning before adding an RBI fielder's choice in the seventh. De La Cruz snapped a 14-game power drought with the performance, a stretch in which he'd hit just .226 (12-for-53) with one RBI. On the season, the 27-year-old is slashing .248/.304/.412 with 10 homers, 27 RBI and 28 runs in 60 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 9:23 am
    • Three more hits Tuesday
Machado went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's loss to the Angels.

Advice: Machado notched his first three-hit game of the year and managed to swipe a base for a second straight game. He drove in the Padres' first run of the game in the third, which makes it four RBI over his last five games. He's been extremely locked in at the plate over the last few weeks, slashing .344/.420/.492 with nine RBI, seven runs and an 8:11 BB:K in 69 plate appearances since May 19. • Returns against righty
Lowe started at first base and went 1-for-2 with a walk in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Lowe returned to the starting lineup against a right-hander following three consecutive games on the bench against a lefty. He was eventually removed for pinch hitter Robbie Grossman in the ninth inning against a left-hander. Lowe's line against southpaws in 2024 is down from his career standard -- .619 OPS this season compared to .761 for his career -- but that's still better than the alternative. Ezequiel Duran, who started at first base while Lowe was benched, owns a .604 OPS against lefties in 2024. Rotowire.com Today, 4:48 am
    • Manny Machado goes 3-for-4, knocks in run
Manny Machado went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a steal versus the Angels on Tuesday.

Advice: Machado has collected hits in 12 of 13 games, and his batted ball numbers have started to creep up as well. There’s nothing so far to suggest he’s about to go on a tear, but things are looking up. He’s currently at .251/.315/.379 for the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:52 pm
    • Settles in for fifth win
Pepiot (4-2) earned the win over the Marlins on Tuesday, allowing three runs on six hits over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Pepiot got off to an ugly start Tuesday, allowing three runs in the opening frame. However, he'd proceed to blank Miami over his final five frames while allowing just one additional hit while the Rays rallied for a 9-5 victory. The 26-year-old Pepiot now has 15 strikeouts over his last two starts (11.2 innings). His ERA sits at 3.96 on the season with a 0.96 WHIP and 59:16 K:BB across 10 outings (52.1 innings). Pepiot is currently in line for a home matchup with Baltimore early next week in his next start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:50 pm

    • Ryan Pepiot has quality start in win
Ryan Pepiot allowed three runs on six hits in six innings in a win over the Marlins on Tuesday.

Advice: Pepiot struck out eight and walked none and now has 15 strikeouts over 11 2/3 innings over his last two starts. The 26-year-old earned 13 whiffs on his four-seam fastball and 17 whiffs overall on 52 swings for a 33 percent whiff rate and 29 percent CSW. His first season in Tampa Bay has been a success thanks in part to better fastball usage up in the zone. He’ll carry a 3.96 ERA into a tough start against the Orioles next week. • Bobby Miller (shoulder) to start this week at AAA
Bobby Miller (shoulder) will make a minor league rehab start this week for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: Miller dealt with some diminished velocity last weekend in his second minor league rehab start for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, but the Dodgers reportedly aren’t concerned. The 25-year-old righty is slated to pitch against some higher-level minor-league competition this week before the club re-evaluates whether he’s ready to return to the majors.
