  • Racks up three hits in win
Estrada went 3-for-6 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's 9-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Estrada missed three games with a jammed thumb to begin June, but he's been strong at the plate on both sides of that minor injury. This was his fourth multi-hit effort in his last six games. The second baseman is up to a .250/.282/.417 slash line with eight home runs, one stolen base, 32 RBI and 33 runs scored over 59 contests this season. The Giants' lineup has been in flux for much of the year due to numerous injuries, but Estrada's been a near-constant presence even amid his early struggles. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:09 pm
  • Stuffs stat sheet Wednesday
Smith went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, two total RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 9-1 victory against the Tigers.

Advice: Smith gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead with his solo shot to right field in the third inning and added an RBI single in the sixth. For good measure, the third baseman sweetened his stat line with a stolen base following a first-inning walk. Smith continues to shine at the hot corner for Texas, getting at least one hit in eight of his past nine games and batting .361 (13-for-36) with two homers, three doubles, four RBI, seven runs and two steals over that span. • Registers steal in win
Fitzgerald went 2-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 9-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Fitzgerald is 3-for-11 with two walks over four games since he returned to the big-league roster May 28. The 26-year-old continues to offer utility depth -- he got the start at shortstop Wednesday to give Casey Schmitt a breather. Fitzgerald is slashing .270/.324/.413 with one home run, five steals, four RBI and nine runs scored over 68 plate appearances, but it's unlikely the right-handed hitter sees anything more than a short-side platoon role while in the majors. • Clubs homer Wednesday
Neto went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Padres.

Advice: Neto went 12 games without a homer, hitting .231 (9-for-39) with three doubles in that span. The shortstop's second-inning blast Wednesday ended up giving the Angels enough offense to earn the win. Neto is up to seven homers, eight stolen bases, 23 RBI, 21 runs scored and 13 doubles with a .254/.301/.420 slash line over 60 contests this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:22 pm
  • Pops 10th homer
DeJong went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 7-6 loss to the Cubs.

Advice: DeJong is hitting for power with three homers over his last five contests, though he's gone a modest 4-for-18 in that span. The shortstop is up to 10 long balls this season, just four shy of matching his total from 112 contests in 2023. DeJong has added a .226/.276/.446 slash line, 21 RBI, 23 runs scored and two stolen bases over 56 games. He's not a particularly well-rounded hitter, but he's done enough to maintain a starting job. • Sitting in second straight
Hernandez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Since Max Muncy made his last start May 15 before landing on the injured list with an oblique strain, Hernandez has served as the Dodgers' primary option at the hot corner. However, after starting at third base in the first seven games of Muncy's absence, Hernandez's hold on an everyday role may be slipping. He'll be on the bench for the second day in a row, with Chris Taylor getting the nod at the hot corner Wednesday after Miguel Rojas occupied the position Tuesday. Hernandez's move to the bench comes while he's supplied just five hits in 37 at-bats (.135 average) over his last 13 games. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:43 pm

  • Retreating to bench
Schmitt is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Schmitt started at shortstop in each of the previous four games and went 5-for-12 with a pair of home runs, but he still looks to be stuck in a part-time role with the Giants. He benefited from Thairo Estrada missing three of the previous four games with a thumb injury, resulting in Brett Wisely picking up starts at the keystone on all three occasions. Wisely and Estrada should serve as the Giants' primary middle infielders now that both are healthy, and Schmitt could be at risk of a demotion to Triple-A Sacramento once shortstop Nick Ahmed (wrist) makes his way back from the 10-day injured list. • Idle against lefty
Wisely is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Wisely will hit the bench for the second day in a row while the Giants face off against another southpaw (Jordan Montgomery). Tyler Fitzgerald will get the nod at shortstop Wednesday, but Wisely should see the majority of the starts at the position while Nick Ahmed (wrist) remains on the injured list. • Gets aboard three times in loss
Garcia went 2-for-4 with a walk, one stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Garcia is making excellent contact lately with multiple hits in nine of his last 16 games. He's gone hitless just three times in that span. It took a while for the third baseman to get into a rhythm at the plate, but the Royals stuck with him atop the lineup due to his speed. Garcia is slashing .267/.316/.398 with five home runs, 14 steals, 35 RBI, 40 runs scored, 12 doubles and three triples through 60 contests. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:13 am
