  • Heads to bench Wednesday
Santander is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Santander will get a breather after he had started each of Baltimore's last 13 games while posting an .886 OPS. The 29-year-old isn't at any risk of losing hold of an everyday role, but he'll cede his spot in the lineup Wednesday to rookie Heston Kjerstad, who has played sparingly since being called up from Triple-A Norfolk on April 23. • Cleared for season debut
Triple-A Columbus reinstated Valera (hamstring) from its 7-day injured list Wednesday.

Advice: Valera looks set to make his season debut Wednesday against Toledo after missing the first month of the campaign due to a hamstring strain. The 23-year-old outfielder didn't conduct a rehab assignment with one of the Guardians' lower-level affiliates prior to being activated, but he was presumably able to prepare for his 2024 Columbus debut by ramping up through simulated games at extended spring training in Arizona. • Takes live BP on Tuesday
Andujar (knee) took live batting practice against Scott Alexander (ribs) on Tuesday, the Associated Press reports.

Advice: Andujar began a running program on April 23 and is expected to next run the bases Saturday, per MLB.com. If he gets through that step without setbacks, the veteran is expected to head out on a multi-game rehab assignment at a yet-to-be-determined affiliate shortly thereafter. Rotowire.com 36 minutes ago
  • Exits with apparent leg injury
Buxton was removed from Wednesday's game against the White Sox in the bottom of the second inning with an apparent leg injury, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Advice: After reaching on a base hit in his first plate appearance of the day in the top of the second inning, Buxton attempted a steal of second base but came up lame and walked off the field gingerly after being tagged out. The Twins should have more clarity on the nature of Buxton's injury later Wednesday. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago
  • Sits against right-hander again
Fraley is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Advice: For the second straight day, Fraley finds himself on the bench with a right-handed pitcher (Joe Musgrove) on the hill. The Reds haven't indicated that Fraley is nursing an injury, but the outfielder has thus far struggled to bounce back since returning to the lineup after a week-long absence due to an illness. In his first three games back in action, Fraley went 0-for-11 with five strikeouts. If Fraley is unable to show improvement in his subsequent starting opportunities, he could fade into more of a part-time role for Cincinnati. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago
  • Cora: Masataka Yoshida (hand) headed to IL
Red Sox placed Masataka Yoshida on the injured list with a left hand injury, according to manager Alex Cora.

Advice: Yoshida was absent from Tuesday’s lineup and now he’ll be out for an extended period of time. The move hasn’t come over the transaction wire, so it’s unknown if he’ll be on the 10-day or 15-day. Rotoworld 48 minutes ago
  • Handed day off Wednesday
Rojas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Advice: Rojas had started in each of the previous three games while going 2-for-11 with a home run and a double, but he'll take a seat for the series finale as Cristian Pache picks up a rare start in center field. Through 91 plate appearances on the season, Rojas has mustered a modest .637 OPS, but his speed (seven steals in eight attempts) and plus defense should give him some stability atop the depth chart in center field. • Resting against lefty
Marsh is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Advice: The Phillies will withhold Marsh and fellow lefty-hitting regular Bryson Stott from the lineup for the series finale while the Angels bring southpaw Patrick Sandoval to the hill. Kyle Schwarber checks in as the Phillies' starting left fielder in Marsh's stead. Rotowire.com Today, 11:30 am
  • Hits bench against lefty
Raley is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Raley had started in left field in four of the past five games, but he'll head to the bench for the series finale with southpaw Chris Sale on the bump for Atlanta. Switch-hitter Sam Haggerty will draw the start in left field Wednesday, but Raley should occupy the strong side of a platoon at the position until Dominic Canzone (shoulder) returns from the 10-day injured list.
