    Elieser Hernández allowed three runs with three strikeouts over six innings in a loss to the Giants on Wednesday.

    Advice: Hernández was solid in his first major league start since 2022, tossing a quality start in San Francisco. He surrendered a two-run homer to Mike Yastrzemski in the third inning, then gave up a run on a base hit and a double in the sixth. With no off days for another week, a second start could come next Tuesday against the Diamondbacks in Los Angeles. Otherwise, he’ll likely retreat to Triple-A to continue working as a starter.     The Dodgers selected Hernandez's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City, and he's starting Wednesday's game against the Giants, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

    Advice: The right-hander signed with the Dodgers as a non-roster invitee during the offseason and will now receive his first look with the big-league club. Hernandez has covered at least five frames in each of his previous five starts at Triple-A and posted a 2.45 ERA during that stretch, but he may not last that long Wednesday with Los Angeles expected to have a bullpen game.     Dodgers selected the contract of RHP Elieser Hernández from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

    Advice: Hernández, 29, will add depth and length to the Dodgers’ bullpen as they’re rolling with a bullpen game against the Giants on Wednesday evening in San Francisco.     Advice: Nick Lodolo (groin) was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday, leaving an opening in the rotation for Thursday. Unless the Reds choose to bring aboard a starter from the minors, Martinez would be the likely to choice to cover the bulk of the innings Thursday. He would be available on three days' rest after he had a 1.1-inning relief appearance Sunday.     Advice: Jankowski started for the third time in four games, as Evan Carter (back) remained unavailable. On top of Carter's absence, Wyatt Langford's hamstring injury has created a path to at-bats for the seldom-used Jankowski, who's taken advantage of the increased plate appearances.
