    • Takes care of business in ninth
Alvarado pitched a perfect ninth to pick up the save in an 8-6 win over the Padres on Sunday. He struck out two.

Advice: Alvarado punched out Eguy Rosario and Luis Campusano before sealing the deal on a line out from Jurickson Profar for his first save since April 20. Alvarado has converted all five of his save chances, though he has an inflated ERA after giving up five runs in just two-thirds of an inning in his first appearance of the season. The hard-throwing lefty owns a 5.06 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 12:7 K:BB in 10.2 innings. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:16 am

    • Perfect for fourth save
Romano earned the save Sunday against the Dodgers, striking out two over a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Romano converted on his fourth straight save attempt to start the campaign, pitching his second perfect inning in six appearances. After missing the first few weeks of the season with an elbow injury, Romano has shown no rust, owning a 3.18 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP through 5.2 frames. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:57 pm

    • Jose Alvarado slams door on Padres in ninth inning
Jose Alvarado slammed the door on the Padres in the ninth inning on Sunday, retiring all three batters that he faced to protect a two-run advantage.

Advice: Alvarado came out guns blazing in this one, striking out Eguy Rosario and Luis Campusano before getting Jurickson Profar on a line drive to right field to end it. The 28-year-old left-hander has struggled a bit to start the season — sporting a 5.06 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and a 12/7 K/BB ratio over 10 2/3 innings, but he has converted all five of his save chances and remains the Phillies’ go-to option in the ninth inning. • Romano locks down 4th save of the season
Jordan Romano pitched a scoreless ninth to preserve a 3-1 win over the Dodgers on Sunday.

Advice: Romano didn’t allow a baserunner while striking out two on the day. He now has four saves despite not even being active for two weeks. He does have a 3.18 ERA, but has looked every bit like the pitcher we’ve counted on to be among the AL leaders in saves over the last few seasons. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:37 pm

    • Struggling to get outs
Chapman (0-2) allowed two earned runs on two hits and no walks while striking out one to take the loss Thursday against the Brewers.

Advice: Chapman entered the game in the eighth inning to protect a one-run lead. He initially ran into some bad luck when a runner reached base on weak contact that didn't leave the infield, but the veteran lefty then threw a wild pitch and served up a home run to Gary Sanchez. Chapman began the season with 5.1 scoreless innings, but he's since allowed six earned runs across his last 2.2 frames and four appearances. Rotowire.com Friday, 7:26 am
    • Shaky in eighth-inning appearance
Kopech allowed two earned runs on two hits and no walks while striking out two to earn a hold Tuesday against the Twins.

Advice: Kopech was used in the eighth inning, and he primarily matched up against the top of the Twins' lineup. He allowed a leadoff single and later in the inning served up a two-run home run to Trevor Larnach. Kopech still maintained a one-run lead for the White Sox to earn his first hold of the season. The sample of the team maintaining a lead late in games is small, but it appears that manager Pedro Grifol is comfortable using Kopech in the highest-leverage situations rather than using him solely in save situations. • Picks up save
Romano allowed a run on one hit in one inning Monday. He struck out one batter and earned a save over Kansas City.

Advice: Romano coughed up a solo homer to Kyle Isbel but still finished off the 5-3 victory. Romano has converted each of his three save chances since returning from the injured list April 16. Through four appearances, he's given up two runs and has yet to walk a batter. Rotowire.com Apr 22, 8:03 pm

    • Jordan Romano allows homer, still gets third save
Jordan Romano allowed one run in the ninth inning on Monday against the Royals, but still managed to hold on for his third save of the season.

Advice: Romano got the call to guard a three-run advantage in the final frame and made things a bit interesting by giving up a two-out solo shot to Kyle Isbel before preserving the victory. The 31-year-old righty has converted all three of his save opportunities for Toronto since returning from a season-opening stint on the injured list due to right elbow inflammation.
