    • Nico Hoerner leads Cubs past Brewers on Sunday
Nico Hoerner doubled and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday, propelling the Cubs to a 5-0 victory over the visiting Brewers.

Advice: Hoerner opened the scoring in the ballgame with a two-run double off of Freddy Peralta in the home half of the fifth inning. He then advanced to third on a ground ball and dashed home on a wild pitch with the Cubs’ third run of the day. The speedy 26-year-old infielder finished the afternoon 1-for-5 and is now hitting .282/.358/.397 with one home run, 10 RBI and four swipes through his first 34 games of the 2024 season. • Nico Hoerner homers, steals base in win Saturday
Nico Hoerner went 2-for-4 with a home run and a stolen base in a 6-5 win over the Brewers.

Advice: Hoerner put the Cubs on the board right away, taking Tobias Myers deep for a solo homer to lead off the first inning, his first homer of the season. He added a base hit to lead off the seventh, then stole second for his fifth steal of the season. The 26-year-old second baseman is heating up at the plate, with multiple hits in three of his last four games. Hoerner is slashing .286/.364/.397 with 20 runs scored and eight RBI across 143 plate appearances. Rotoworld Saturday, 2:02 pm

    • Cranks first home run
Torres went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's 7-2 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Torres led off the sixth inning with a 418-foot shot to center field off Keegan Akin, cutting the Yankees' deficit to 7-2. While it didn't ultimately impact the final score, the home run was certainly a weight off of Torres' shoulders -- he'd gone 32 games without a long ball to start the campaign, a homerless streak of 53 regular-season games if you go back to Torres' last home run Sept. 7. The 27-year-old second baseman is now slashing a disappointing .218/.295/.274 to open the year with 15 runs scored, seven RBI and three stolen bases. Rotowire.com Thursday, 4:32 pm
    • Nico Hoerner reaches three times against Mets
Nico Hoerner went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a stolen base on Wednesday in a 1-0 win over the Mets.

Advice: Hoerner knocked a double in the first inning, then a single in the fifth. He drew a walk in the eighth to reach for a third time and stole second for his second steal of the season. Hoerner has hit out of the leadoff spot for the Cubs over the last two weeks, with both steals coming over that span. The 26-year-old second baseman is hitting .272/.349/.360 with 18 runs scored across 129 plate appearances. Hitting leadoff would help his stolen base rate if he can hold the top spot in the lineup. • Pops first homer Tuesday
Gimenez went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 10-9 extra-inning loss to the Astros.

Advice: Gimenez started the Guardians' comeback with a two-run blast in the sixth inning. The second baseman has logged three straight multi-hit efforts following a recent 0-for-11 skid. For the season, he's slashing .280/.347/.374 with one homer, 17 RBI, 17 runs scored, four stolen bases, five doubles and a triple over 122 plate appearances. He continues to see a starting role and frequently bats second in the lineup against right-handers. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:48 pm

    • Andres Giménez hits first homer of 2024 vs. Astros
Andrés Giménez went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored in Tuesday’s loss to the Astros.

Advice: Giménez hit his first home run of the season on Tuesday when he took Cade Smith deep to right for a two-run bomb. Giménez closes out the first month of the season with a line of .280/.347/.374 to go with one homer, 17 RBI, and 17 runs scored. While he doesn’t provide much power, Giménez is providing plenty as far as scoring and driving in runs are concerned. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:35 pm

    • Gets aboard three times in loss
Gimenez went 2-for-4 with a walk, one RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to Atlanta.

Advice: Gimenez went 2-for-18 with three RBI and a steal over five games from April 19-25, a cold spell that resulted in him getting a day off Friday. He's bounced back with a pair of multi-hit efforts over the weekend. The second baseman is up to four steals on five attempts this season. He's slashing .275/.345/.343 with 15 RBI, 15 runs scored, five doubles and a triple through 117 plate appearances, but he's yet to hit a home run in 2024. Rotowire.com Apr 28, 10:04 pm

    • Giménez has two hits, steal vs ATL
Andrés Giménez went 2-for-4 with a steal and an RBI against the Dodgers on Sunday.

Advice: Both of Giménez’s hits with singles hit 91 mph or better off the bat and upped his slash line to .275/.345/.343 on the year. That slugging percentage obviously leaves a lot to be desired, but Giménez is getting on base often at the top of the Guardians’ lineup and now has four steals on the year. He also has some of the lowest exit velocities among every day players, so if you can stomach his lack of power, he’s a good MIF target in all fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Apr 28, 2:01 pm

    • Andrés Giménez not in Guardians lineup on Friday
Andrés Giménez is not in the Guardians’ starting lineup for Friday night’s soiree against the Braves.

Advice: The switch-hitting 25-year-old infielder went hitless (0-for-10) during their series against the Red Sox to start the week, so perhaps Guardians’ skipper Stephen Vogt just wants to give him a day to clear his head. Gabriel Arias will start in his place at second base and will bat seventh against Chris Sale and the Braves on Friday evening in Atlanta. Rotoworld Apr 26, 1:55 pm
