  • On base five times
Rortvedt went 3-for-3 with two walks, a stolen base and two runs scored Saturday against the White Sox.

Advice: Rortvedt has had a relatively even share of playing time behind the plate as compared to Rene Pinto, but Rortvedt has started three of the Rays' last four games. He had a big performance Saturday and narrowly missed his first home run of the season, which was originally ruled to have cleared the fence only to be overturned on replay. Rortvedt has benefitted from a .548 BABIP to inflate his batting average early on, though he does have a 10.2 percent walk rate across 225 career big-league plate appearances, giving him a boost in on-base leagues. • Logs fourth steal
Mateo went 0-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Mateo has seen limited playing time this season, though he could get more looks after Jackson Holliday was sent down to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday. Through 35 plate appearances, Mateo is slashing .250/.314/.406 with four steals, one RBI, five runs scored and five doubles. He's unlikely to take a full-time role from Jordan Westburg, Ramon Urias or Cedric Mullins, but Mateo offers utility value and speed while playing primarily versus left-handed pitchers. • Swats homer in win
Mountcastle went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Athletics.

Advice: The long ball was Mountcastle's first hit in three games since he recovered from a minor knee issue. He posted multiple hits in seven of the 11 games prior to the injury. The first baseman has been solid this year, slashing .299/.364/.483 with three homers, 12 RBI, 15 runs scored and seven doubles over 99 plate appearances, though he has yet to attempt to steal a base. • Clubs third homer
Rutschman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Rutschman is on fire with an eight-game hitting streak, going 15-for-36 (.417) in that span with two homers, nine RBI and four runs scored. The catcher's surge has him up to a .324/.368/.438 slash line with three homers, 16 RBI, 16 runs scored and three doubles through 25 games. Rutschman's power numbers are more or less in line with his first two seasons and he's making more contact, but he's also posted a 6.1 percent walk rate so far. He's locked in as the Orioles' No. 2 hitter. Rotowire.com Today, 9:06 pm

  • All set for rehab assignment
Berti (groin) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Sunday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Berti has been down for the last two weeks with a left groin strain but is ready to play in some rehab games to show he's over the injury. Because he hasn't missed that much time, Berti probably won't need too many rehab at-bats before being activated. Rotowire.com Today, 8:34 pm

  • Pulled due to lack of effort
Rays manager Kevin Cash said he pulled Siri from Saturday's game versus the White Sox in the third inning due to a lack of effort, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Siri didn't show much hustle in going after an Eloy Jimenez double in the second inning and was removed for defense before the bottom of the third. Cash noted that he considers the matter closed and that there will be no carryover, so it sounds like Siri could be back in the lineup Sunday. The center fielder struck out in his lone plate appearance Saturday and has fanned at a 44.4 percent clip on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 7:43 pm

  • Gets left knee checked out
Sano went to have his sore left knee examined Saturday afternoon, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Sano was in the starting lineup Friday after battling soreness in the knee for several days, but his knee "flared up again" after two at-bats, per manager Ron Washington. The Angels have not provided an update as of Saturday evening, and it's especially concerning given that Sano's left knee is what cost him the better part of the last two seasons. Sano got off to a decent start with the Angels and went yard last weekend for his first MLB homer in over two years, but his status is up in the air at the moment. Rotowire.com Today, 7:38 pm
