    Rogers (0-1) took the extra-inning loss Saturday versus the Pirates, allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits while striking out two over one inning.

    Advice: Rogers gave up back-to-back home runs to Bryan Reynolds and Ke'Bryan Hayes in the 10th inning. Jorge Soler got two of those runs back in the bottom half of the frame, but the Giants couldn't come up with consecutive walk-off wins. Rogers hadn't given up a run over his previous six outings before Saturday. He's at a 4.32 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 7:2 K:BB through 8.1 innings this season, and he's added two holds but remains unlikely to challenge Camilo Doval for save chances. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

    The White Sox recalled Berroa from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.

    Advice: Armed with an upper-90s fastball and a plus slider, Berroa has the makeup of a potential closer for the White Sox down the road, but he's likely to settle into a lower-leverage role initially while joining the big club for the first time this season. After contending with shoulder problems in spring training before falling short in his bid for a spot in the White Sox's Opening Day bullpen, Berroa struggled at Charlotte early in the season but seems to have found his footing of late.     Stratton (2-2) allowed five runs on four hits and a walk while striking out one over one inning to take the loss versus the Tigers on Saturday.

    Advice: Stratton had his worst outing of the season, as the Tigers rallied against him in the seventh inning. He's allowed multiple runs in three of his 12 appearances, but he's maintained scoreless efforts in the other nine. Saturday's poor showing skewed his ratios to a 6.23 ERA and 1.54 WHIP, while his 11:10 K:BB over 13 innings is far from an encouraging sign.     Tylor Megill (shoulder) struck out six hitters in two innings of work for High-A Brooklyn on Saturday.

    Advice: Megill didn’t allow a hit and threw 31 pitches in his return to the mound. The 28-year-old will make his next rehab start Thursday, this time with Double-A Binghamton. If Megill has no setbacks, he should be ready to rejoin the Mets by the end of May. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago

    Jonathan Bowlan will start Monday for the Royals against the Blue Jays.

    Advice: Bowlan is already with the team, but the Royals will need to make a move to get him on the active roster. The 6-foot-6 right-hander has made four starts for Triple-A Omaha with a 2.57 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 21 frames.     David Peterson (hip) will begin a rehab assignment with Low-A St. Lucie on Sunday.

    Advice: Peterson is currently on the 60-day injured list due to a torn labrum in his left hip. The left-hander will likely make four rehab starts to rebuild his arm strength, but if all goes well, he could be a rotation option for the Mets at the end of May or the start of June.   • White Sox option RHP Jonathan Cannon to AAA
    White Sox optioned RHP Jonathan Cannon to Triple-A Charlotte.

    Advice: Cannon was ineffective in his first taste of MLB action, and gets booted from the active roster a day after allowing four runs over five innings on eight hits against the Rays. The right-hander still has some long-term potential, but can safely be ignored in redraft leagues. Brad Keller was recalled to take Cannon’s spot on the roster, and possibly the rotation.     Slaten (2-0) earned the win over the Cubs on Saturday, striking out two over two scoreless innings.

    Advice: The Red Sox pieced together a bullpen day, opening up an opportunity for Slaten to pick up his second win of the season. The Rule 5 selection has been a find for Boston with one run allowed and two walks over 16.1 innings. Slaten has thrown at least two innings in seven of nine outings.     White Sox recalled RHP Prelander Berroa from Triple-A Charlotte.

    Advice: Berroa was acquired in the trade that sent Gregory Santos to the Mariners. The 24-year-old was not particularly effective in Triple-A with an 8.74 ERA, but the rebuilding (and then some) White Sox will give the right-hander a chance to work out of the bullpen.
