    • Camilo Doval suffers blown save against Yankees
      Camilo Doval suffered a brutal blown save on Sunday afternoon against the Yankees, giving up four runs on four hits in 2/3 of an inning.

      Advice: Oof. The right-hander came on with a 5-3 lead to protect, but things got away from him in a hurry. Gleyber Torres started the inning with a single, then Anthony Volpe smacked a one-out RBI triple that narrowed the gap. Juan Soto then clobbered a go-ahead two-run homer to give the Yankees the lead. Doval kept fighting though, issuing a walk to Aaron Judge, an RBI double to Giancarlo Stanton and a walk to Alex Verdugo before uncorking a wild pitch that advanced both runners. He rallied to punch out DJ LeMahieu though before turning the ball over to Taylor Rogers to get the final out. He’s still locked in as the Giants’ closer, but his 4.24 ERA is no longer looking as spectacular and another blowup or two and Giants’ manager Bob Melvin may want to go another direction.       Caballero went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two runs scored Sunday against the Orioles.

      Advice: Caballero belted the first pitch of the seventh inning over the left-field wall for his third homer of the year. It was also his second hit of the day, representing his ninth multi-hit game in 54 games this season. The performance raised Caballero's average to .260 with three homers, 18 RBI, 27 runs and 20 steals in 28 attempts. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:32 pm
       
    • Battles through quality start
      Littell struck out two and allowed three runs on 11 hits and one walk over six innings in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Orioles. He didn't factor into the decision.

      Advice: Littell's day started by allowing a leadoff homer to Gunnar Henderson, but he somehow managed to keep the Rays in the game despite walking the tight rope throughout most of his six-inning effort. In total, Littell scattered a season-high 11 hits and 12 total baserunners while accumulating a season-low two strikeouts. Despite facing at least five Orioles batters in four of his six innings completed, Littell managed to walk away with a quality start, and his gritty performance kept the door open for the Rays to pull off the comeback win. Littell will look to make things a bit easier on himself during his next start, tentatively slated to take place against these same Orioles next weekend when the O's return the favor and make the trip to Tampa.       Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Twins.

      Advice: Bregman is starting to heat up, collecting his fourth homer in six games along with adding his fifth multi-hit effort over the last eight. Sunday's performance lifted Bregman's slash line to .229/.287/.395 while during this recent eight-game run he's batting 12-for-32 (.375) with four homers, seven RBI and five runs scored.     • Yimi García shaky, earns save vs. Pirates
      Yimi García allowed two hits and an earned run in an uneven save against the Pirates on Sunday.

      Advice: He also struck out three. Toronto went right to García with Jordan Romano back on the IL for the save. Oneil Cruz scalded a double 111.8 MPH to start the ninth inning and came around to score, but García still closed it out. He looks to be secure in the role while Romano is out.     • José Caballero goes 2-for-3, homers in Rays’ win
      José Caballero went 2-for-3 with a homer Sunday as the Rays edged the Orioles 4-3.

      Advice: Caballero has been a strikeout machine of late, but he managed to go without one for just the second time in 18 games today. He’s batting .260/.318/.370 on the season, but it just doesn’t seem likely that he’ll keep his average up like this with how often he fails to make contact.     • Zack Littell gives up 11 hits to Orioles
      Zack Littell allowed three runs and 11 hits over six innings Sunday against the Orioles.

      Advice: It was a rather odd game in Baltimore, in that there were 28 hits and just seven runs. The Orioles outhit the Rays 15-13, outwalked them 2-1 and had three hits with RISP to the Rays’ one, yet the Rays, who were also 0-for-2 stealing bases, ended up winning 4-3. Littell allowed three runs or fewer for the 10th time in 12 starts, even though his hits total topped his previous season high by two. He definitely deserves better than a 2-3 record for his 3.56 ERA. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:47 pm
       
    • Gunnar Henderson homers, reaches five times
      Gunnar Henderson went 3-for-3 with a homer and two walks Sunday versus the Rays.

      Advice: The homer, his 19th of the season, led off the bottom of the first. Henderson’s batting average has slipped in recent weeks — he came in at .221 in May after hitting .291 in April — but he’s still crushing it in terms of homers and walks. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:47 pm

      Paul Sewald pitched a clean ninth inning to earn the save against the Mets on Sunday. He struck out one batter.

      Advice: Sewald seems to relish the opportunity to close games against the organization that gave up on him and did so on back-to-back days this weekend.
