    • Availability still in question
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said he's not sure whether Kimbrel (back) will be available to pitch Wednesday versus the Yankees, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Advice: Hyde said something similar prior to Tuesday's game and Kimbrel did not appear in that contest. It's possible the skipper is just practicing some gamesmanship here so that the Yankees have less information to work with, but either way it doesn't sound like there will be clarification prior to Wednesday's game. If Kimbrel is indeed unavailable again, Yennier Cano and Danny Coulombe are candidates for saves. Rotowire.com Today, 1:20 pm

    • On bench Wednesday
D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Seattle.

Advice: He was behind the plate for Tuesday's 3-2 loss, so d'Arnaud will get a break for Wednesday's afternoon contest. Chadwick Tromp will start at catcher and will form a battery with starting pitcher Chris Sale. Rotowire.com Today, 9:51 am
    • Homers again Tuesday
Soto went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Soto cut the Yankees' deficit to 4-2 in the sixth inning with a 447-foot blast of Dean Kremer, his eighth homer of the year. Soto extended his hitting streak to eight games -- he's gone 10-for-30 with three homers and a 1.099 OPS in that span. The 25-year-old outfielder has gotten off to a stellar start in New York, slashing .325/.432/.588 with 24 RBI, 22 runs scored and two steals through his first 31 games. • Finally goes yard
Bregman went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run Tuesday against the Guardians.

Advice: Bregman has been off to a slow start this season but has improved of late, as he's collected six hits in his last 23 at-bats. He also slugged his first home run of the season Tuesday. While Bregman has only a .078 ISO in 113 plate appearances this season, he's striking out at just a 12.4 percent clip, meaning his .216 average should continue to rise. • Spencer Turnbull solid for 5 1/3 innings
Spencer Turnbull yielded two runs — one earned — in 5 1/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Angels.

Advice: This will likely be Turnbull’s final start for a while, as Taijuan Walker’s return has restored the Phillies’ planned rotation. Still, Turnbull seems like a better bet than Walker going forward, and while it’s unlikely that he’d hold up over the course of 32 starts, he might be a fantasy factor again later this year. For now, he’s probably droppable in shallow mixed leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:34 pm
    • Another strong start
Turnbull didn't factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and no walks over 5.1 innings against the Angels. He struck out six.

Advice: The only run charged against Turnbull came in the third inning when Zach Neto tagged him for a solo homer. The 31-year-old hasn't allowed more than four hits in a game this season, and with the Phillies expected to trim their six-man rotation back to five now that Taijuan Walker is healthy, Turnbull has certainly made a case for maintaining a starting role. However, after dealing with severe injuries in 2022 and 2023, the Phillies could look to watch his workload early in hopes of keeping him fresh throughout the long season. If Turnbull sticks in the rotation, he'd likely toe the rubber early next week, either in the series finale against the Giants or the series opener against Toronto. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:07 pm
    • Bregman hits first homer of season vs. Guardians
Alex Bregman went 1-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Guardians.

Advice: The Astros found themselves down 3-0 after the first inning, but Bregman’s 426-foot blast, which marked his first homer of the season, drew things even at 3-3. It’s been a slow start to the season for Bregman, who entered the day slashing .216/.287/.268. He’s hit safely in four of his last five games and could be on the verge of finally heating up. Getting that first home run out of the way is hopefully a step in the right direction. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:45 pm

    • Salvador Perez returns to lineup Tuesday
Salvador Perez (back) returned to the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Perez is back handling the catching duties on Tuesday night in Toronto after being scratched from Monday’s series opener due to back tightness. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:46 pm

    • Back in action Tuesday
Perez (back) is starting at first base and batting cleanup Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Perez was scratched from Monday's starting nine due to back tightness, but he made an appearance off the bench and is back in the lineup a day later. The 33-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to 2024 with seven homers, 26 RBI and a .346/.404/.596 slash line through 29 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:36 pm
