    • Brayan Bello (lat) to make rehab start next week
Red Sox’ skipper Alex Cora told reporters on Wednesday that Brayan Bello (lat) will make a minor league rehab start early next week.

Advice: There had been some hope that Bello could jump right back into the Red Sox’ rotation without requiring a tune-up on the minor league side, but he’ll toe the slab at least once at Triple-A Worcester before making his triumphant return. Bello has been shelved since April 21 due to tightness in his right lat. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago

    • Jackson Holliday resumes mashing at Triple-A
Orioles 2B/SS prospect Jackson Holliday went 3-for-6 with an RBI on Tuesday for Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Holliday flopped in his first taste of the big leagues as Baltimore continued to challenge him from a development standpoint. However, that shouldn’t diminish fantasy managers’ long-term optimism. The latest multi-hit effort raises his Triple-A slash line to .321/.451/.554 with nine extra-base hits and one steal through 13 contests. He’ll get some extended time in the minors to continue ironing out contact issues and struggles against left-handed pitching, but it’s only a matter of time before he gets another shot in Baltimore. • Leaves yard Tuesday
Polanco went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Polanco opened up the scoring with a two-run shot to right off Reynaldo Lopez in the third inning. Polanco had not driven in any runs since he last homered back on April 15. He's now reached base in five straight games, though he has struck out seven times over his last 12 at-bats. It's been a very slow campaign at the dish so far for Polanco, who's now slashing .170/.314/.290 with four homers, 10 RBI, 11 runs and a 20:37 BB:K in 121 plate appearances. • Headed to Durham for rehab
Baz (elbow) will make a rehab start with Triple-A Durham either Saturday or Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Baz has thrown in two extended spring training games, the most recent of which came Monday. The next step in his recovery will come at Triple-A Durham to build up his pitch count. There is no specific timeline for Baz to return, but it's possible that he'll be back in late May. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:59 pm

    • Jorge Polanco hits two-run homer against Atlanta
Jorge Polanco hit a two-run homer in Seattle’s victory over Atlanta on Tuesday.

Advice: Polanco gave Seattle a 2-0 lead with a homer off Reynaldo López, and it’s the fourth homer of the season for the second baseman. The former Minnesota Twin stalwart has gotten off to a slow start with just a .176 average and .290 slugging mark, but it seems very likely the results will kick into high gear over the next few weeks/months. • Ragans dominates TOR before leaving with cramp
Cole Ragans allowed one run on four hits over 6 2/3 innings in a win over the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Advice: Ragans was removed from the game in the seventh inning with a calf cramp, but he remained in the dugout and there seems to be no concern about his status going forward. The left-hander was effective on Sunday with nine strikeouts and three walks. He also posted a 28 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW thanks to a strong effort from both his four-seam and change-up. He now has a 3.44 ERA on the season and is a must-start every time out, including this weekend against the Brewers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:02 pm

    • Suffers calf cramp
Ragans left Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays due to a left calf cramp.

Advice: Ragans was removed from the game midway through the seventh inning and was later seen in the dugout after receiving minimal attention from the Royals' trainers, so his injury doesn't appear to be anything too severe. The team will likely continue to monitor his condition, but the 26-year-old lefty should be able to make his next start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:20 pm

    • Placed on injured list
The Angels placed Trout on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Advice: Trout was diagnosed with a torn meniscus Tuesday and will require surgery, so a move to the IL was expected. It's worth noting the 32-year-old superstar was placed on the 10-day IL rather than the 60-day list, which may indicate the Angels expect Trout to bounce back from his procedure relatively quickly. • Mike Trout hits IL with left knee meniscus tear
Angels placed OF Mike Trout on the 10-day injured list with a left knee meniscus tear.

Advice: Trout is slated to undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. There isn’t a definitive timetable for his return yet, but the expectation is that he’ll return at some point later this season. It’s obviously a colossal loss for the Angels, and fantasy managers. The 32-year-old generational superstar was in the midst of an impressive renaissance campaign, posting a strong .867 OPS with a major league-leading 10 homers and six steals through 29 games. There should be some clarity on his potential return timeline at some point following the knee procedure. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:30 pm
