    • Kirby Yates holds on for ninth save vs. Dodgers
Kirby Yates allowed one run in the ninth inning for the save against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Yates was summoned in the ninth inning to close out the game with a two-run lead. He put two runners on with a hit and a walk with two outs before Jason Hayward doubled to bring home a run. Andy Pages would be called out at home on the play to end the game. Yates picks up his ninth save of the season while posting a 1.16 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and a 29/11 K/BB ratio across 23 1/3 innings. Rotoworld Wednesday, 10:12 pm

    • Earns 14th save
Diaz earned a save against Cleveland on Wednesday, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.

Advice: Entering with a 4-2 lead in the ninth inning, Diaz needed just 13 pitches to retire the Guardians in order. Since May 21, Diaz is 7-for-7 in save chances with only two runs allowed over 10 appearances. On the season, Diaz is 14-for-16 in save chances with a 5.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 27:18 K:BB in 25.1 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:06 pm

    • Alexis Díaz slams door on Guardians in ninth
Alexis Díaz slammed the door on the Guardians in the ninth inning on Saturday, retiring all three hitters that he faced in order to preserve a two-run advantage.

Advice: Díaz made things look easy in this one, getting Steven Kwan on a pop up to shortstop, Kyle Manzardo on a fly ball to right field and Jose Ramirez on a pop up to second base to end it — needing just 13 pitches (nine strikes) to get the job done. The 27-year-old hurler now holds a 5.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and a 27/18 K/BB ratio (25 1/3 innings) to go along with 14 saves and one victory on the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:07 pm

    • Mason Miller serves up walk-off homer to Padres
Mason Miller allowed one run in the ninth inning on Wednesday and was saddled with a loss against the Padres.

Advice: Miller was called upon in a tie ballgame and wound up surrendering a walk-off solo shot to Padres rookie Jackson Merrill. It was just his first loss of the year and second run he’s allowed in four relief appearances this month. The flame-throwing 25-year-old righty has been one of the best high-leverage relievers in baseball and this looks like just a momentary hiccup in an otherwise stellar breakthrough campaign. • Fans nine in loss
Pepiot (4-3) took the loss Monday against Baltimore, allowing four runs on nine hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: Pepiot struggled to contain an imposing Orioles lineup, allowing a career-high nine hits. However, it wasn't all bad for the Rays righty as he generated an impressive 16 whiffs en route to nine strikeouts. Following this four-run appearance, Pepiot has thrown a 4.17 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 68:16 K:BB over 58.1 innings this season. The 26-year-old faces another difficult test in his next start, scheduled to be at Atlanta this weekend. Rotowire.com Jun 10, 7:08 pm

    • Ryan Pepiot strikes out nine in loss to Orioles
Ryan Pepiot struck out nine and allowed four runs over six innings on Monday in a loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Pepiot put together an extremely impressive performance as solo homers from Gunnar Henderson and Ryan O’Hearn, respectively, represented the only damage against him early on until O’Hearn added a two-run double in the fifth inning, which was enough to saddle him with a loss. He generated 16 swinging strikes, including six on his changeup alone, and finished with a robust 35 percent CSW. The 26-year-old righty has excelled in his Rays debut this season, allowing three earned runs or fewer in eight of his 11 starts. He’ll bring a sparkling 4.17 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 68/16 K/BB ratio across 58 1/3 innings (11 starts) into a challenging road matchup on Saturday against the Braves at Truist Park. • Not used in save situation
Diaz was not brought in to close out Saturday's 4-3 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Lucas Sims opened the ninth inning before departing with two runners on base, giving way to Lucas Sims, and then Justin Wilson picked up the save. Presumably, Diaz was not used because he threw 42 pitches over the previous two days while working in back-to-back appearances leading up to Saturday's game. Rotowire.com Jun 9, 6:11 am
