    • Mason Miller strikes out side for ninth save
Mason Miller struck out all three batters he faced Tuesday against the Rockies for his first save of the month.

Advice: Miller earned eight saves from Apr. 9-30, but the A’s hadn’t had any save situations for him since. Given that he also pitched Sunday, it’s possible he’ll now require Wednesday off. The A’s have allowed him to pitch on consecutive days twice, but they haven’t had him work three times in four days. That it’s a day game Wednesday doesn’t help. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:42 pm

    • Another scorelesss start
Crochet (5-4) picked up the win Tuesday against Toronto, allowing two hits and one walk with four strikeouts over six scoreless innings.

Advice: Crochet has tossed 17 consecutive scoreless innings and earned a victory in each of his last four starts. While he fanned fewer than six batters for the first time in five starts, the 25-year-old retired the first 13 batters he faced. Since his ERA peaked at 6.37 on April 24, Crochet has yielded three runs over 28.0 innings to lower his ERA to 3.75 overall. He's lined up to close out the two-start week Sunday against the Orioles. • Rebounds for eighth save
Diaz earned the save in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Padres, logging a strikeout and a walk in a scoreless inning.

Advice: After issuing a leadoff walk to Jurickson Profar in the ninth, Diaz struck out Manny Machado before inducing a game-ending double play off the bat of Jake Cronenworth to close out the shutout victory. It's an encouraging bounce-back effort from Diaz, who'd allowed five runs (four earned) in his previous three appearances (2.1 innings) while taking a pair of losses and a blown save. The 27-year-old right-hander still sports a subpar 6.62 ERA with a 1.64 WHIP and 18:14 K:BB across 17.2 innings while going eight for 10 in save opportunities this season. • Alexis Díaz notches save in win over Padres
Alexis Díaz pitched a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a 2-0 win over the Padres on Tuesday.

Advice: Díaz walked one and struck out one and then induced a game-ending double play. The save was his eighth of the season in what has been a tough year for Diaz. The 27-year-old has a 6.62 ERA and has blown two saves. The good news is that he’s not allowing lots of hard contact, but the bad news is that his command has wavered, leading to an increased walk rate and a huge reduction in his swinging strike rate. If the Reds had another good option at the back end of games, Díaz might be in a bit more jeopardy of losing his job. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:57 pm
    • Crochet throws six scoreless innings vs. Blue Jays
Garrett Crochet pitched six scoreless innings while striking out four in the White Sox’ win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: You couldn’t have asked for a much better outing out of Crochet. While it wasn’t a dominating performance, the lefty held the Blue Jays’ lineup to just two hits, while walking only one batter. Crochet continues to be one of the few bright spots for the White Sox, as he’s now won five games on the season and is sporting an era of 3.75. Crochet will look to earn his sixth win in his next start, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Orioles. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:31 pm
    • Rejoining rotation Wednesday
Pepiot (lower leg) will be reinstated from the 15-day injured list to start Wednesday against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The 26-year-old righty landed on the shelf with a bruised lower left leg after his May 5 start versus the Mets, but he'll return Wednesday after being sidelined for the 15-day minimum. Any workload limitations for Pepiot will likely be minor, given the brevity of his absence. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:22 pm

    • Cash: Ryan Pepiot starting Wednesday vs. Red Sox
Ryan Pepiot (leg) will start on Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Pepiot will be activated to take the ball on Wednesday against Boston after landing on the injured list earlier this month with a leg bruise after being hit by a 107.5 mph comebacker. The 26-year-old righty gets a decent matchup right away against the Red Sox at pitcher-friendly Tropicana Field. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:42 pm

    • Takes loss in extra frame
Diaz (1-3) took the loss in 10 innings Sunday against the Dodgers, allowing an unearned run on one hit and a walk over an inning of work. He also struck out a batter.

Advice: Diaz struck out Jason Heyward in the ninth to send the game into an extra frame. He was an out away from getting through the 10th, but Shohei Ohtani laced a base hit to right that scored Heyward to end the game. Diaz has now given up five total runs on four hits over his last 2.1 innings, which has also come with two losses and a blown save. He's given up nine runs in 4.2 innings in May. Despite the struggles, manager David Bell has not made any public comments about a possible closer change, suggesting Diaz's job is save for now. He now owns a 7.02 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 17:13 K:BB in 16.2 innings. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:50 am
    • Successful bullpen session
Pepiot (leg) threw a three-inning bullpen session ahead of Friday's game against the Blue Jays, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Pepiot continues to make progress toward a return, as he's now thrown three successful bullpen sessions. His activation could come as soon as the Rays' upcoming series against the Red Sox, though no final decision has been reached. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:06 am
