    • Ronel Blanco starting Sunday against Tigers
Ronel Blanco will start Sunday’s game against the Tigers.

Advice: There was talk that Blanco would get some extra rest before making his next outing, but the right-hander will work on regular rest for the finale against Detroit. Assuming the rotation stays the same after this start, his next outing would come against the Orioles. Rotoworld Sunday, 8:31 am

    • Drawing start Sunday
Blanco will start Sunday's game against the Tigers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Heading into the weekend, Blanco wasn't expected to make a start against the Tigers, but he ended up getting pushed up in the pitching schedule after Justin Verlander had his turn in the rotation skipped due to a neck injury. As a result of the change in the pitching schedule, Blanco no longer lines up for two starts during the upcoming week. After Sunday's outing, the right-hander is on track to make his next start next weekend versus the Orioles in Houston. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:12 am

    • Transferred to 60-day IL
Strider (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Advice: Strider is already set to miss the remainder of the 2024 campaign after undergoing elbow surgery in April, so the move to the 60-day IL doesn't affect his outlook. The right-hander will still have his sights set on a return at some point early in the 2025 season; in the meantime, Saturday's transaction opened a spot on the 40-man roster for Ramon Laureano, who had his contract selected from Triple-A Gwinnett. • Braves transfer Spencer Strider to 60-day IL
Braves transferred RHP Spencer Strider to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: The procedural move opens up a spot on Atlanta’s 40-man roster. Strider is targeting an early-season return to the Braves’ starting rotation next year after undergoing an internal brace procedure, not a full Tommy John ligament replacement operation, on his right elbow back in mid-April. • Deployed in eighth inning
Munoz walked one and struck out three in a scoreless and hitless eighth inning to earn a hold in Friday's 3-2 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Munoz has been dealing with a back issue for most of June so far, but he's still seen high-leverage work when available. The right-hander was deployed in the eighth inning Friday against the top of the Rangers' lineup, while Ryne Stanek got the call in the ninth and earned the save. Munoz has picked up three holds and a loss over his last four outings, but it seems this is less about his injury and more about a matchups-based approach to the late innings by manager Scott Servais. Munoz has a 1.55 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 41:10 K:BB with 12 saves and six holds through 29 innings this season. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:32 pm
    • Strikes out seven in win
Castillo (6-7) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings to earn the win over the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: Castillo received an extra day of rest after Emerson Hancock got a spot start Thursday. It looks like that was a good move, as Castillo was able to bounce back from his worst start of the year to earn his third quality start in his last four outings. He is now at a 3.32 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 92:24 K:BB over 89.1 innings through 15 starts. He's projected for a challenging road matchup versus the Guardians next week. • Luis Castillo holds Rangers to two runs over six
Luis Castillo struck out seven after six innings of two-run baseball against the Rangers on Friday while picking up a win.

Advice: Castillo scuffled in the first inning, allowing a pair of RBI singles. After that, the right-hander was excellent while keeping the Rangers off the board over the next five frames. The six strong innings see him lower his ERA on the campaign to 3.32 with a 92/24 K/BB. Castillo’s next chance to pitch is scheduled for Thursday against the Guardians in Cleveland. • Falls to Yankees
Bello (6-4) took the loss Friday against the Yankees, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Bello surrendered a two-run homer to Alex Verdugo in the first inning before the Yankees tacked on two more runs in the fifth. It's been a tough stretch for the 25-year-old, who's struggled to a 7.04 ERA over his last six starts. Bello's ERA sits at 5.00 on the season with a 1.40 WHIP and 56:24 K:BB across 63 innings. He'll look to get back on track in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week in Toronto. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:51 pm

    • Tarik Skubal gives up four runs in loss to Astros
Tarik Skubal struggled in Friday night’s loss to the Astros, giving up four runs on six hits over his 6 1/3 innings of work.

Advice: Skubal recorded only two strikeouts in the ballgame while allowing one base on balls. He kept the Astros’ offense completely off the board and was engaged in a scoreless pitcher’s duel heading to the sixth inning. They broke through there though, as Jose Altuve doubled, Alex Bregman smacked an RBI triple, Yordan Alvarez followed with a sacrifice fly and Mauricio Dubon tacked on a two-run homer. Skubal got 13 swings and misses on just 84 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 24 percent. Now 8-2 on the season, he’ll carry a pristine 2.20 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and a 98/16 K/BB ratio (86 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Braves in Atlanta. Rotoworld Friday, 8:09 pm
