    • Strikes out six in no-decision
      Skubal did not factor into the decision in Monday's 2-1 win over the Rangers, allowing one run on seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts over six innings.

      Advice: Skubal surrendered a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien in the first inning but held the Rangers in check over the next five and left the mound in a 1-1 tie. Skubal allowed at least one baserunner in each inning, but he was still able to earn a quality start despite not having his best stuff. Through 12 starts, Skubal, who has not walked more than two batters in any game this season, has posted a sparkling 1.97 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 86:13 K:BB and tentatively lines up for a home matchup against the Brewers on Sunday.     • Skubal strikes out six in no-decision Monday
      Tarik Skubal allowed one run in six innings and got a no-decision in the Tigers’ 2-1 victory over the Rangers on Monday.

      Advice: Skubal gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out six. He managed to earn a quality start for the ninth time in 12 starts this season. Skubal allowed a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien, but that was the only run the Rangers could muster against him. His ERA is now 1.97 as he continues to push for the AL Cy Young award.     • Allows five runs in loss
      Brown (1-2) allowed five runs on six hits across five innings to take the loss Sunday against the Reds. He walked one and struck out six.

      Advice: Brown actually pitched decently, but he was done in by a three-run home run by TJ Friedl and a lack of run support in the 5-2 loss. The five runs allowed are the rookie's most since he gave up six in his MLB debut back on March 30. Outside of the few hiccups, Brown has been pretty solid, and he's still sitting with a strong 3.33 ERA across 51.1 innings to go along with 61 strikeouts. The righty is penciled in to start again on Saturday against this same Cincinnati squad, though the pending return of Jordan Wicks (forearm) could push Brown out of the rotation after that.     • Works into seventh
      Bello did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs on eight hits and three walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Bello cruised through the first four in allowing only two baserunners and finished the sixth inning in line for a quality start and the win. For the first time all year, Bello was called upon to go back out for the seventh, but after recording one out, he allowed the next two runners to reach base prior to being pulled, with both runners eventually coming around to score, adversely impacting his final line. It was only the second time this year that Bello has not been involved in the decision.     • Luis Castillo dominates in victory over Angels
      Luis Castillo delivered a dominant performance in Sunday afternoon’s victory over the Angels, allowing just two hits and three walks over seven shutout innings.

      Advice: Castillo piled up six strikeouts in the impressive outing. The only real threat against him came in the fourth inning as the Angels used a pair of walks to put two men on with two outs for Jo Adell — who Castillo got to fly out harmlessly to center field. The 31-year-old hurler generated a staggering 21 swings and misses on 102 pitches in the contest — 13 of them on his fastball alone — while posting a strong CSW of 30 percent. Now 5-6 on the season, Castillo will carry a tidy 2.99 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and an 81/22 K/BB ratio (78 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Royals in Kansas City.     • Twirls seven scoreless innings
      Castillo (5-6) allowed two hits and three walks while striking out six over seven scoreless innings to earn the win over the Angels on Sunday.

      Advice: Castillo's gone seven innings in three of his 13 starts this season, and he's kept runs off the board in the each of those outings. He allowed four runs in each of his first three starts of the season, but he hasn't given up more than three runs in any of his last 10 appearances, nine of which went down as quality starts. Castillo is at a strong 2.99 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 81:22 K:BB over 78.1 innings this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Kansas City. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:39 pm

      Finnegan picked up the save Sunday against Cleveland, allowing one hit and zero walks while striking out zero in a scoreless ninth inning.

      Advice: Finnegan's strong season continued Sunday, and his 16 saves are tied for fourth in the major leagues. The 32-year-old has been remarkably consistent, allowing just one earned run since March 31 and converting 14 of 15 save opportunities during that span. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:33 pm
       
    • Ben Brown struggles in follow-up to no-hit effort
      Ben Brown allowed five runs on six hits in five innings in a loss to the Reds on Sunday.

      Advice: Brown struck out six and walked one, but he was far more hittable in this one than last week. Brown did post a 32 percent whiff rate and 36 percent CSW on the day, but much of that was on the back of his curveball, which is a strong pitch. His four-seam fastball is less impressive, and Brown threw it 70 percent of the time on Sunday, which is part of the downside of Brown as a two-pitch pitcher. Brown has a 3.33 ERA on the season and has clear strikeout upside, but his limited pitch mix will make him a volatile fantasy asset and with Jordan Wicks set to return from the injured list, there’s no telling how many more starts Brown will make after next week’s start in Cincinnati.     • Oneil Cruz with two hits, scores twice
      Oneil Cruz went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored against the Blue Jays on Sunday.

      Advice: Each of Cruz’s hits were blistered - the first a single at 117.2 MPH off the bat and then later a 111.8 MPH double. While falling into a platoon and striking out too often, getting a glimpse of his gaudy tools reminds us a hot streak may always be right around the corner for Cruz. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:11 pm
