    • Jordan Hicks’ velocity is way down in win
Jordan Hicks allowed one run on three hits in five innings in a win over the Rockies on Sunday.

Advice: The big news here is that Hicks averaged just 91.7 mph on his sinker after averaging 95.3 mph on the year. In fact, he was down 2.5 mph or more on every single one of his pitches in this start, which is part of the reason why he struck out just one batter. Of course, because he was facing the Rockies, he wasn’t saddled with that much damage. It will be interesting to hear what the Giants have to say about the performance or if it was just an off night for the oft-injured right-hander. Provided he’s healthy, he would have another good start lined up against the Mets next week. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:46 pm

    • Shut down from throwing
Bradford (ribs) said Sunday he's been shut down from throwing since he's not recovering as quickly as expected, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The left-hander apparently wasn't experiencing any pain since recently starting up a throwing program, but his recovery also wasn't moving forward. It's unclear when Bradford is expected to restart the throwing program, and he should be considered out indefinitely until his status is updated. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:52 pm

    • Blows save, takes loss Saturday
Finnegan (1-3) took the loss and blew a save against the Phillies on Saturday, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit and one walk over 1.2 innings.

Advice: Finnegan was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the bottom of the ninth inning and got two outs before serving up a game-tying solo homer to Kody Clemens. The contest went into an extra frame, and after Washington failed to score in the top of the 10th, Finnegan was tagged with the loss when Bryce Harper plated the automatic runner on a sacrifice fly. The blown save was just the second for Finnegan this year, with the other coming all the way back on March 31. The right-hander has been one of the best closers in the league this season with 13 saves along with a 1.89 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 17:9 K:BB over 19 frames. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:55 pm

    • Nails down save No. 8
Munoz allowed a run but hung on to notch his eighth save of the season in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Gunnar Henderson made things interesting with a two-out, solo home run, but Munoz quickly bounced back and sat down Adley Rutschman swinging to end it. Henderson's long ball represents the only run Munoz has allowed over his last 10 appearances, and he boasts a 15:1 K:BB over 12 innings during that span. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:23 pm
    • Mixed bag in no-decision
Castillo did not factor into the decision Saturday in Baltimore, permitting two runs on four hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out two.

Advice: The four walks were a season high and the two strikeouts were by far a season low for Castillo. He still managed a seventh straight quality start, keeping his team in it before the Mariners' offense rallied late. It marks the first no-decision of the season for Castillo, who is just 4-5 despite a 3.28 ERA, including a 2.01 mark across his last seven outings. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:55 pm

    • Andrés Muñoz closes out Orioles on Saturday
Andrés Muñoz served up a solo home run against the Orioles in the ninth inning on Saturday, but managed to escape the frame with a one-run lead to earn his eighth save of the season.

Advice: Muñoz came on after the Mariners scored a pair of runs in the eighth inning to take the lead, and despite the solo homer he made it stand up. He struck out Cedric Mullins and got Kyle Stowers to line out to first base to start the inning. The 25-year-old right-hander then fell behind Gunnar Henderson and served up a two-out, solo blast that pulled the Orioles to within a run. That would be as close as they would get though as he punched out Adley Rutschman to end it. Munoz now holds a 1.86 ERA to go along with eight saves and a pair of victories on the season. • Luis Castillo posts quality start in no-decision
Luis Castillo posted a quality start in a no-decision against the Orioles on Saturday, allowing just two runs on four hits across his six innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander also issued four free passes on the day while recording only two strikeouts. The damage done against him came early in this one, as Austin Hays swatted a sacrifice fly in the second inning and Ryan O’Hearn added a run-scoring single in the third. Castillo generated only five swings and misses on 89 pitches on the night, posting an underwhelming CSW of 21 percent. He’ll attempt to get back in the win column as he carries a 3.28 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 66/15 K/BB ratio (60 1/3 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the Yankees in New York. • Finnegan blows save against the Phillies
Kyle Finnegan blew his second save of the season against the Phillies on Saturday.

Advice: Finnegan had two outs in the bottom of the ninth when he allowed a game-tying solo home run to Kody Clemens. Finnegan took the loss as he allowed another run on a game-winning sacrifice fly by Bryce Harper in the 10th inning. He entered play Saturday leading the league with 13 saves, but he was probably due to give up some runs as his ERA is 1.89 but his xFIP is significantly higher at 3.72.

    • Brayan Bello surrenders three homers in defeat
Brayan Bello surrendered five runs in 4 2/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: The ability is there for Bello to be better than this, but he’s just so overrated now. The Cardinals were averaging one homer every 51 plate appearances this season before Bello gave up three to the 21 batters he faced tonight. Boston would have been better off giving his six-year deal to Kutter Crawford this spring. Rotoworld Friday, 11:52 pm
