    • Jeimer Candelario leaves game with apparent injury
Jeimer Candelario was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Pirates with an apparent injury.

Advice: Candelario didn’t look right during an eighth-inning at-bat and was replaced by Spencer Steer at first base in the bottom of the eighth inning. There should be an update on his status soon. Rotoworld Tuesday, 5:45 pm

    • William Contreras back in lineup Tuesday vs. Halos
William Contreras is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Angels.

Advice: Contreras is back at designated hitter following a one-game absence for precautionary reasons following a scary-looking home-plate collision over the weekend. The positive development here for the Brewers, and fantasy managers, is that the 26-year-old backstop has been cleared of a potential concussion. Rotoworld Tuesday, 3:45 pm
    • Back in lineup Tuesday
Contreras (head) is serving as the Brewers' designated hitter and batting second Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: Contreras had to sit out Monday's contest after he was hit in the head during a play at the plate Sunday. He now seems to be in good enough shape to play again, though it will be Gary Sanchez behind the dish catching for Tobias Myers. Contreras still holds a .305 batting average on the season, but he has struggled to find consistent success recently, slashing just .232/.246/.321 since the start of June. • Josh Smith returns to lineup Tuesday vs. Mets
Josh Smith is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s contest against the Mets.

Advice: Smith is back at designated hitter for Tuesday’s contest against the Mets after missing four straight games due to general soreness. It could be a few additional days before he’s ready to get back onto the field defensively, but it’s an encouraging development that the Rangers are able to get his bat back into the lineup. The 26-year-old infielder has been excellent this year, batting .294/.384/.436 with four homers and four steals across 243 plate appearances. Rotoworld Tuesday, 1:05 pm

    • Back in lineup
Smith (hamstring) is batting third as the designated hitter Tuesday against the Mets.

Advice: Smith missed four straight games with tightness in his upper hamstring but will rejoin the lineup Tuesday. While he's healthy enough to play, the Rangers are opting to ease Smith into action in a non-defensive capacity, giving him his first start at DH this season. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:04 pm

    • Picks up fourth win
Sanchez (4-3) went seven innings and allowed two runs (one earned) to earn the win Monday against the Padres. He gave up six hits, one walk, and struck out five.

Advice: Sanchez was impressive Monday against San Diego, as he allowed only one extra-base hit. It was the eighth start this season in which he's allowed one earned run or fewer. The lefty matched his season high for innings pitched and lowered his ERA to 2.91 in the process. The 27-year-old is tentatively scheduled to pitch again this weekend versus the Diamondbacks. • Cristopher Sánchez goes seven in win over Padres
Cristopher Sánchez was charged with two runs (one earned) over seven innings on Monday in a win over the Padres.

Advice: Sánchez limited San Diego to just six hits over seven frames as their lone runs of the contest came on a fifth-inning ground out from Jake Cronenworth and a run-scoring double by Donovan Solano in the seventh inning. He struck out five and only issued one walk, getting plenty of run support from Philadelphia’s offense to cruise to his fourth win of the year. He’ll bring a strong 2.91 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 66/24 K/BB ratio across 77 1/3 innings (14 starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Diamondbacks. Rotoworld Monday, 6:32 pm
    • William Contreras (head) available off bench
William Contreras is available to come off the bench Monday after leaving Sunday’s game with a head injury.

Advice: Contreras hasn’t had any concussion symptoms today, so the Brewers are confident that he’s going to be OK. They did have Gary Sánchez start behind the plate tonight, but Contreras is available to hit and play defense. Rotoworld Monday, 5:20 pm
    • Available off bench
Contreras (head) is available to pinch-hit or enter the game defensively off the bench Monday versus the Angels, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Contreras will be forced to miss his second contest of the season after taking a shot to the head while applying the tag at home plate to finish Sunday's 5-4 win over the Reds, but manager Pat Murphy said Monday that the catcher "is going to be fine." Contreras appears to have avoided any significant injury, which is music to the ears of fantasy managers who have reaped the benefits of his stellar play in 2024. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:09 pm
