    • Belts grand slam
Santander went 3-for-5 with a home run, five RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's win over Cincinnati.

Advice: Santander already had a nice multi-hit performance in the bag before capping his day off with a ninth-inning grand slam in the blowout victory. It was his fifth long ball of the year and first since April 17, snapping a 15-game drought. He posted a .505 OPS over his previous 13 games since his last multi-hit effort April 20. Santander is now slashing .218/.295/.427 with 23 RBI and 15 extra-base hits through 33 appearances. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:10 pm

    • Santander has three hits, five RBI vs CIN
Anthony Santander went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and five RBI in an 11-1 win over the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: It was only a matter of time before Santander started to get hot. The 29-year-old took Emilio Pagan deep for a three-run shot in the eighth innings that went 402 feet and left the bat at 104 mph. He also had a 107.3 mph single and 98.3 mph single on the day. He’s slashing .218/.295/.427 on the season with five home runs and 23 RBI. If you can, now would still be the time to try and trade for Santander before he really gets hot. • Jackson Chourio goes hitless in loss to Cubs
Jackson Chourio went 0-for-2 and was pinch-hit for in the seventh inning as the Brewers were shut out by the Cubs on Sunday afternoon.

Advice: The 20-year-old phenom fouled out to first base in the third inning and bounced into a fielder’s choice in the fifth inning. While he has shown flashes of greatness, it has been a struggle overall through his first 30 games — slashing a troublesome .219/.265/.352 with four homers, 13 RBI, six stolen bases and a 35/7 K/BB ratio over 114 plate appearances. It seems like the Brewers are content sticking with him and letting him take his lumps at the big league level, but if the struggles continue at this rate, eventually something may have to give. • Jacob Young returns to starting lineup for Nats
Jacob Young (back) is hitting leadoff Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Young sat out Saturday after leaving Friday’s game with back spasms. The Nationals called his absence precautionary, and the fact he’s back a day later is pretty good evidence of that. Young has been excellent in 2024 with a .311 average and 12 steals in 81 plate appearances. Rotoworld Sunday, 8:41 am

    • Good to go Sunday
Young (back) will start in center field and bat leadoff Sunday against the Blue Jays, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old exited Friday's contest due to back spasms and didn't start Saturday, but he'll rejoin the lineup for Sunday's series finale. Young has gone just 2-for-10 over his past four games but has a .311/.354/.378 slash line with 12 steals in 81 plate appearances on the season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:30 am

    • Out of Sunday's lineup
Martinez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Tampa Bay.

Advice: Manager Carlos Mendoza will continue the trend of sitting Martinez for the series finale, which is now the case for the third straight series since the veteran slugger made his season debut April 26. DJ Stewart will bat fifth as the designated hitter Sunday. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:13 am

    • J.D. Martinez gets Sunday off against Rays
J.D. Martinez is not in the lineup for Sunday’s tilt with the Rays.

Advice: Martinez went 1-for-8 over the first two games of the series and is hitting .267 with a .624 OPS thus far in his limited action. He’ll get a day off with DJ Stewart hitting fifth as the designated hitter for the Mets on Sunday. Rotoworld Sunday, 7:55 am

    • Available off bench Saturday
Young (back) is not starting in Saturday's game against the Blue Jays but is available to pinch hit or run, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Young was removed in the fifth inning of Friday's 9-3 win over the Blue Jays due to back spasms, and he was replaced by Jesse Winker. Alex Call will start in center field Saturday and hit eighth against Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman. Rotowire.com Saturday, 11:10 am

    • Young (back) out Saturday vs. Blue Jays
Jacob Young (back) is out of the lineup Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Young left Friday’s game with back spasms, and he won’t start Saturday’s affair. Nationals manager Dave Martinez did tell reporters that Young is available off the bench as a pinch-hitter or pinch-runner, so he should be back in the lineup in the coming days.
