Advice: Flaherty struggled with the Guardians' power, yielding three extra-base hits, including a solo homer in the sixth frame to Jose Ramirez. While the veteran righty has been an excellent source of strikeouts with 56 K's through 42 innings, he hasn't been as dominant in the run department but still owns a 3.86 ERA and has walked merely six batters. Advice: It would’ve been nonsense to think Flaherty could match his last outing of 14 punch outs, but the 28-year-old pitched well against the Guardians and now has six or more strikeouts in five straight starts. The right-hander allowed his first of two runs in the first inning off a single from Will Brennan. He didn’t allow another run until his last inning when José Ramírez took him deep in the sixth. The Seattle Times’ Adam Jude suggests that Bryan Woo (elbow) could be activated form the IL this weekend to face the Athletics.

Advice: Woo was impressive in his last start at Triple-A, throwing 66 pitches while averaging 95.7 mph on his fastball. He now has a 17-to-0 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 11 1/3 scoreless innings across his three rehab appearances with Tacoma, while allowing just five hits. However, Jude notes that “the team wants to see how Woo feels over the next couple of days before finalizing plans to activate him.” With Emerson Hancock set to make his start against the Twins on Tuesday, his turn in the rotation would come up again this weekend against Oakland, and Woo could be activated to take his place. Garrett Crochet picked up his second victory of the season on Sunday afternoon, striking out six batters over six innings of one-run baseball against the Cardinals.

Advice: The 24-year-old southpaw scattered just three hits on the afternoon and didn’t walk a batter. The lone blemish on his day came on a solo blast off the bat of Willson Contreras in the fourth inning. Aside from that, he was brilliant. Crochet generated eight swings and misses on 88 pitches on the day — four of those on his cutter — while posting a CSW of 28 percent. Now 2-4 on the season, he’ll carry a 5.31 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and a 53/9 K/BB ratio (40 2/3 innings) into Friday’s showdown against the Guardians. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:17 pm

Glasnow (6-1) earned the win over Atlanta on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk over seven innings while striking out 10.

Advice: Glasnow didn't allow a man to reach base over the first three frames before surrendering a leadoff single to Ronald Acuna, who would later come home to score on a single from Austin Riley, in the fourth. The right-hander responded by striking out seven of the next 11 batters he faced, and overall he racked up double-digit strikeouts for the third time this season.
