    • Launches game-winning homer
Martinez went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Thursday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The 36-year-old DH came up big for the Mets, breaking a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning by crushing the first pitch he saw from Ryan Thompson to straightaway center field. Martinez is settling into a groove, slashing .279/.323/.508 over his last 15 games with five doubles, three homers and nine RBI, but his 36.9 percent strikeout rate during that time is still worrisome. • Allows just one hit in victory
Flaherty (2-4) earned the win over Boston on Thursday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out nine batters over 6.2 scoreless innings.

Advice: Flaherty was at his best Thursday, racking up 15 swinging strikes and tying his season high with 6.2 frames. The right-hander struck out exactly nine batters for the third straight contest and recorded his sixth consecutive quality start. Though the win was just his second this season, Flaherty has been very good in his first year with Detroit, posting a 3.46 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 90:10 K:BB over 67.2 innings. • Belts sixth homer
Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a triple in Thursday's 4-0 win against Seattle.

Advice: Bregman broke a scoreless tie with his two-run blast in the fourth inning and came around to score Houston's final run following a triple in the sixth. It was the third multi-hit effort for the third baseman across his past five games, and he's batting .350 (7-for-20) with a pair of homers and four RBI over that stretch. Bregman could finally be getting his bat going following a rough start to the season that has his slash line still at a meager .218/.280/.360. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:36 pm

    • Jack Flaherty takes no-hitter into seventh vs. BOS
Jack Flaherty struck out nine while allowing just one hit over 6 2/3 innings of shutout baseball to help the Tigers to a 5-0 win over the Red Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Flaherty didn’t allow a hit until there was one out in the seventh inning when Rob Refsnyder was able to break up the no-no. The right-hander has now struck out nine batters in three straight starts, and his K/BB for the month of May is 40/5. Flaherty has been a strong addition to the Detroit rotation, and he’s pitched better than his still-solid 3.46 ERA has indicated — especially lately. Assuming no changes to the rotation, he’s well worth starting next Tuesday against the Rangers in Texas. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:02 pm
    • J.D. Martinez hits go-ahead homer in eighth
J.D. Martinez hit a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning to help the Mets to a win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Advice: Martinez came up huge for the Mets with a solo homer in the eighth to give New York a 3-2 lead and ultimately the victory. The 36-year-old isn’t the same dynamic offensive player he was a few years ago, but he’s still capable of providing success as seen in his .276/.313/.475 slash since joining the team near the end of April. • Anthony Volpe aims to extend hitting streak to 22
Anthony Volpe will carry a 21-game hitting streak into Thursday’s series finale against the Angels.

Advice: Volpe can surpass Diamondbacks star Ketel Marte for the longest hitting streak in the majors this season with another knock during Thursday’s series finale in Los Angeles. The 23-year-old shortstop’s offseason overhaul to his swing and offensive approach have resulted in a robust .288 batting average to go along with six homers and 11 stolen bases. He’s recorded at least one hit in 21 straight contests since May 7. He’s a long way from Joe DiMaggio’s 56-game streak, but it’s an interesting wrinkle for fantasy managers to continue monitoring. • Alex Bregman wallops two-run homer to defeat M’s
Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Thursday, powering the Astros to a 4-0 victory over the Mariners.

Advice: Bregman broke up a scoreless stalemate with a fourth-inning shot -- his sixth round-tripper of the season -- to left field off Mariners ace Logan Gilbert. He also tripled and scored a run in the sixth inning to cap off a multi-hit performance. The 30-year-old impending free agent has gone deep twice in his last three games since being dropped to the fifth spot in Houston’s lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:46 pm

    • Suzuki hits pinch hit home run Thursday
Seiya Suzuki went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run against the Brewers on Thursday.

Advice: The home run was Suzuki’s fifth of the season. He pinch hit in the seventh inning a homered off left-handed reliever Bryan Hudson. It was just the second home run for Suzuki since coming off the injured list on May 11th. He seems to be over the injury as he’s now on a seven-game hitting streak. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:22 pm

    • Absent from Thursday's lineup
Suzuki is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: The Cubs will go with Mike Tauchman in right field, Cody Bellinger at designated hitter and Pete Crow-Armstrong in center field as they try to salvage a series split. Though his power hasn't shown up yet this season, Suzuki enters Thursday's game with a modest six-game hit streak, going 8-for-27 over that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:29 am
