    • Collects three RBI
Arenado went 2-for-4 with two doubles and there RBI in Friday's win over the White Sox.

Advice: Arenado gave St. Louis an early lead with a two-run double in the first inning before adding another RBI double in the fifth. Over his previous 13 games, he posted a disappointing .614 OPS with just one multi-hit performance. Friday's game was the first time he drove in multiple runs since April 20. Arenado is slashing .279/.338/.369 with nine extra-base hits and 16 RBI through 32 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:55 pm
    • Collects easy save
Helsley tossed a perfect inning to earn a save over the White Sox on Friday.

Advice: Helsely retired the 2-3-4 hitters in the White Sox lineup with just eight pitches to secure the 3-0 win. Since blowing a save chance in his season debut, Helsley has converted 11 consecutive opportunities while allowing one earned run over 16 innings. He owns a 1.59 ERA with a terrific 19:2 K:BB this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:43 pm
    • Cruises to win
Gray (4-1) allowed three hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings Friday, striking out six and earning a win over the White Sox.

Advice: Gray allowed just one extra-base hit and retired the final eight batters he faced. He's been excellent since returning from a brief stint on the injured list to begin the year; Gray has given up just three earned runs through 30.1 innings while producing a 38:5 K:BB. He's turned in four straight quality starts after throwing five shutout frames in his 2024 debut. Gray's next start is lined up to be at home against the Mets. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:34 pm
    • Nolan Arenado doubles twice, drives in three
Nolan Arenado drove in all three runs for the Cardinals while doubling twice against the White Sox on Friday.

Advice: Arenado doubled home two runs in the first, and another in the fifth. The 33-year-old has picked up eight two-baggers in the 2024 campaign, and the pair of hits ups his slash to .279/.338/.369. The power really hasn’t shown up for Arenado so far, but a couple of extra-base hits is always nice to see. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:45 pm
    • Ryan Helsley hurls scoreless ninth for save
Ryan Helsley picked up a save Friday against the White Sox without allowing a run in his inning of work.

Advice: Helsley didn’t give up a hit, didn’t give up a walk, and didn’t pick up a strikeout. The right-hander needed just eight pitches — seven of those strikes — against a Chicago team that looked like it wanted to be anywhere else. Helsley has already saved 11 games, and he lowered his ERA to 1.59 with the scoreless frame. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:45 pm
    • Sonny Gray blanks White Sox over seven in victory
Sonny Gray didn’t allow a run over seven innings with six strikeouts to help the Cardinals to a 3-0 victory over the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Gray was outstanding against a White Sox lineup that shouldn’t be legal. The right-hander gave up just three hits over those seven frames, and he issued one walk while throwing 65-of-94 pitches for strikes. Over his last two starts, Gray has allowed just a single earned run while striking out 15 over 13 innings. That’ll work. He’ll face the Mets next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:45 pm
    • Increasing baseball activiteis
Edman (wrist) is slated to take full swings off a tee Saturday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Edman recently progressed to hitting from both sides of the dish after being limited to the right side due to his surgically repaired right wrist. He was also seen tracking fly balls during batting practice Friday, per John Denton of MLB.com. Edman still appears far away from a rehab assignment, but the 29-year-old is steadily progressing. • Won't make another rehab start
Manager Alex Cora said Friday that Pivetta (elbow) does not need to make another rehab start, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Pivetta surrendered four runs over three-plus innings during his lone rehab start at Triple-A Worcester on Thursday. Despite his subpar performance, the Red Sox will waste no time returning the 31-year-old right-hander to their rotation, which has already been hit hard by injuries this season. Pivetta has given up one earned run across 11 innings through two starts this year, and he appears in line to make his return in Atlanta on Tuesday or Wednesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:00 pm

    • Cardinals taking things slow with Tommy Edman
Cardinals’ manager Oli Marmol said Friday that the team continues to proceed cautiously with Tommy Edman (wrist).

Advice: The 28-year-old has been hitting off of a tee from both sides of the plate, but Marmol noted that his progression will continue to be slower than most injured players’ by design. He also said that a minor league rehab assignment is not imminent. Expect the Cardinals to continue to build him up slowly with no clear timetable on when he could be ready to make his 2024 season debut. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:52 pm
