    • Giancarlo Stanton leaves game with hamstring issue
Giancarlo Stanton was removed from Saturday night’s battle against the Braves due to tightness in his left hamstring.

Advice: The 34-year-old slugger is set to undergo an MRI exam on Sunday to determine the severity of the injury. This is the type of situation that fantasy managers had been waiting for when Jasson Dominguez was tearing it up at Triple-A but had nowhere to play, but now that he’s on the injured list at Triple-A it’s unclear what they would do if Stanton was forced to miss substantial time. Trent Grisham replaced him on Saturday night and wound up swatting a solo homer. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago

    • Will miss games
Aaron Boone said Saturday that he's expecting Stanton (hamstring) to miss "days," Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports Saturday.

Advice: Stanton was removed from Saturday's game with tightness in his hamstring and is set to undergo an MRI on Sunday. While Boone is hopeful the injury isn't significant, he's still expecting Stanton to miss some time. Sunday's MRI should provide more clarity on the severity of the injury. Trent Grisham entered the game for Stanton and could be in line for more at-bats while Stanton's sidelined. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago

    • Homers again in loss
Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 8-1 loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Alvarez's solo home run off Jameson Taillon in the fifth inning was the only run the Mets could muster Saturday. He later added a double in the seventh frame and walked in the ninth. Alvarez has homered on back-to-back days and has gone 10-for-19 with two long balls and six RBI over his past five contests. The young catcher is hitting .284 with three home runs and 16 RBI in 88 at-bats this season. Rotowire.com Today, 6:41 pm
    • Lifted with hamstring tightness
Stanton was removed from Saturday's game against Atlanta with left hamstring tightness.

Advice: Stanton seemed to aggravate the hamstring while scoring from second base on a Gleyber Torres double in the fourth inning. Trent Grisham pinch-hit for Stanton the next time Stanton was due up. Stanton is set to undergo imaging Sunday. Rotowire.com Today, 6:26 pm

    • Allows three runs in loss
Maeda (2-4) took the loss against the White Sox on Saturday, allowing three runs on eight hits and no walks with five strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Maeda tossed three scoreless innings before allowing two runs in the fourth. He then yielded two hits in the fifth before being pulled at 92 pitches, and an inherited runner scored on an RBI single by Andrew Vaughn. Maeda has not registered a quality start since May 1 and has only completed five or more innings in six of his 13 starts this season. The 36-year-old owns a 6.00 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 41:18 K:BB over 54 innings and lines up against the Angels next week. Rotowire.com Today, 5:34 pm

    • David Bednar (side) was unavailable on Saturday
Pirates’ manager Derek Shelton told reporters after Saturday’s victory that David Bednar was unavailable due to tightness in his left side.

Advice: It was surprising to see Aroldis Chapman close out a one-run victory for the Pirates against the Rays instead of Bednar, and now we know why. Shelton noted that he doesn’t believe the injury is anything serious, but Bednar’s status should be monitored over the coming days. Those speculating on saves in daily leagues could try to catch lightning in a bottle with Chapman. Rotoworld Today, 4:27 pm

    • Wasn't available Saturday
Bednar was unavailable for Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rays due to left side tightness, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Bednar missed out on a save chance Saturday as Aroldis Chapman stepped up in the ninth to close out the win. Bednar's absence was planned after feeling the tightness during his pregame throwing program but the injury isn't considered to be serious at this point. If he ends up missing more than just Saturday's game, expect Chapman to continue to see save chances. Rotowire.com Today, 4:18 pm

    • Francisco Alvarez homers in second straight game
Francisco Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a solo homer on Saturday in the Mets’ one-sided defeat at the hands of the Cubs.

Advice: Alvarez supplied New York’s lone run in a blowout loss at Wrigley Field by taking Chicago starter Jameson Taillon deep in the fifth inning for his third round-tripper of the year. It was his second consecutive game with a homer after going without one in nine straight contests after returning from the injured list back on June 11. He hasn’t hit for a ton of power, but he’s batting an impressive .364 (12-for-33) with two homers and eight RBI this month. Rotoworld Today, 2:18 pm
    • Sitting Sunday, MRI Monday
Marte (knee) won't play in Sunday's game against the Cubs and will receive an MRI on Monday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Marte was removed from Saturday's game with right knee soreness, an issue that's lingered throughout June. The Mets will give Marte a day to rest before undergoing imaging on Monday's team day off to see if there's any structural damage. Rotowire.com Today, 2:06 pm
