  • Austin Riley homers against in win
    Austin Riley went 1-for-2 with a home run and two walks in a win over the Rays on Saturday.

    Advice: That’s now homers in back-to-back games for Riley, who might be starting to wake up a bit. There wasn’t much under the hood that looked “off” with Riley this year, but he was being pitched differently and not being given much he could turn on, which had hurt his pull power. Perhaps it took him a while to adjust his approach to combat that, or perhaps it’s just two good games. Only time will tell, but it seems smart to bet on Riley. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:17 pm
     
  • Marcus Semien drives thee runs in loss to Mariners
    Marcus Semien went 3-for-4 with three RBI in a loss to the Mariners on Saturday.

    Advice: Semien got the Rangers on the board with an RBI double off George Kirby to make it 4-1 Mariners. In the top of the ninth, the star second baseman drove in two more, but the Rangers still trailed 7-5 after that one.   • Josh Rojas homers, reaches four times in victory
    Josh Rojas went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI in a win over the Rangers for the Mariners on Saturday.

    Advice: On top of that damage, Rojas also drew two walks. The infielder has been scuffling as of late after a red-hot start to the season, but this was a big day from the 29-year-old. His homer was a solo shot to give Seattle a 5-1 lead, and he singled in two runs in the eighth. Rojas is hitting .263/.336/.395 thus far with four homers and 15 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:05 pm

  • J-Rod swats two-run homer in victory over Rangers
    Julio Rodríguez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer to help the Mariners to a 7-5 win over the Rangers on Saturday.

    Advice: The man they call J-Rod clobbered a cutter that didn’t cut from Nathan Eovaldi into the left-field bleachers to make it 3-0 in the third inning. It’s just the seventh homer of the season for the 23-year-old, but it’s worth noting he’s gone deep in two of the last three games. It’s not a foregone conclusion that Rodríguez shows elite power in the second half of the year, but it seems pretty likely based on his first two seasons. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:05 pm
     
  • JD Mart homers twice in win over Padres
    J.D. Martinez went 3-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI in a 5-1 win over the Padres on Saturday.

    Advice: Martinez hit his first home run 391 feet off of Jhony Brito in the fourth inning and then followed that up with a 382-foot shot in the seventh. He now has eight home runs and 26 RBI in 43 games for the Mets so far this season. Given his regular playing time and spot in the middle of the Mets’ order, Martinez carries consistent fantasy value even in his age 36 season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:42 pm
     
  • Jackson Merrill power binge continues in loss
    Jackson Merrill went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Mets on Saturday.

    Advice: Merrill launched a 411-foot blast against Jose Quintana for his seventh home run of the season. The rookie now has four home runs in his last three games. All of them have also been solo shots. Merrill was billed as primarily a batting average asset who wouldn’t provide much power, so it’s nice to see him starting to show some pop.   • Jake Cave (head) returns to action on Saturday
    Jake Cave (head) returned to the Rockies’ starting lineup on Saturday.

    Advice: Cave was scratched from Friday night’s lineup after he was hit in the head by a line drive during batting practice. Fortunately, he sustained just a minor cut to his forehead and is able to return to action the following evening. The 31-year-old outfielder will bat seventh against Jared Jones and the Pirates on Saturday night. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:27 pm

    Goodman will catch and bat eighth Saturday against Pittsburgh.
