  • Gets left knee checked out
    Sano went to have his sore left knee examined Saturday afternoon, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

    Advice: Sano was in the starting lineup Friday after battling soreness in the knee for several days, but his knee "flared up again" after two at-bats, per manager Ron Washington. The Angels have not provided an update as of Saturday evening, and it's especially concerning given that Sano's left knee is what cost him the better part of the last two seasons.   • Ryan McMahon clubs two-run homer in loss Saturday
    Ryan McMahon went 1-for-2 and clubbed a two-run homer on Saturday night as the Rockies fell to the Astros in Mexico City.

    Advice: McMahon got the Rockies on the board first in this one, clobbering a mammoth 459-foot (108.9 mph EV) two-run shot off of Ronel Blanco in the first inning. He also drew a walk and struck out in the contest, participating in only the three true outcomes.   • Matt Vierling powers Tigers past Royals Saturday
    Matt Vierling blasted a go-ahead three-run homer in the seventh inning on Saturday, powering the Tigers to a 6-5 victory over the Royals.

    Advice: The Tigers entered the seventh inning trailing 3-1, but drew even on RBI singles by Mark Canha and Kerry Carpenter. Vierling then followed by crushing a 377-foot (110.7 mph EV) laser off of Chris Stratton that scraped the wall in left field and gave the Tigers a 6-3 lead.   • Maikel Garcia plates two, steals base in loss
    Maikel Garcia went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI and a stolen base as the Royals fell to the Tigers on Saturday evening in Motown.

    Advice: Garcia led off the game with a single off of Casey Mize and came around to score the game’s first run on an RBI ground ball off the bat of Vinnie Pasquantino. He then drove in a run with an RBI single in the second inning and swiped second base before being stranded there. The 24-year-old third baseman also plated a run with a ground ball in the ninth inning.   • Christopher Morel exits after collision on Saturday
    Christopher Morel was removed from Saturday’s game against the Red Sox after colliding with teammate Alexander Canario.

    Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Morel "is fine" after exiting Saturday's game versus the Red Sox after the seventh inning following a fall in the outfield, CHGO Cubs reports.

    Advice: Morel toppled over left fielder Alexander Canario after making a running catch and landed hard on the ground, banging up his elbows and right hip. He looked to be in some pain and was removed from the game at that point. However, it sounds like he probably would've remained in if the score hadn't been so lopsided.
