• Moves to 60-day IL
The Red Sox transferred Casas (ribs) to the 60-day injured list Saturday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Casas was diagnosed with a cartilage tear in his left ribcage Friday, and it will officially cost him at least two months as he moves to the 60-day IL. The 24-year-old first baseman was optimistic Friday about returning to the lineup before the end of the season, but there is no telling when that might be, given the wide range of recovery timelines that come with his sort of injury. His roster spot will be given to Garrett Cooper, who was acquired from the Cubs on Saturday in exchange for cash and figures to take over as Boston's primary first baseman while Casas is out. • Ryan Mountcastle blasts solo homer on Saturday
Ryan Mountcastle went 1-for-4 with a solo homer against the A’s on Saturday.

Advice: Mountcastle’s only hit of the day left the yard, going back-to-back with Adley Rutchman for a solo homer in the fifth inning off JP Sears. It was the second home run of the season for the 27-year-old first baseman to go with a .299/.364/.483 slash line and 12 RBI across 99 plate appearances. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

  • Resting against lefty
Wade isn't in the Giants' lineup for Saturday's game against Pittsburgh, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Advice: With the Giants set to face lefty Martin Perez on Saturday, the lefty-hitting Wade will stay put in the dugout to begin the game. Wilmer Flores will start at first base instead and bat second. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago

  • Miguel Sanó (knee) absent from Angels lineup
Miguel Sanó (knee) is absent from the Angels’ starting lineup for Saturday’s skirmish against the Twins.

Advice: The 30-year-old slugger was pulled from Wednesday’s game due to soreness in his left knee, but did return to the lineup on Friday. Perhaps this is just the Angels’ easing him back into action and not pushing him too hard. Luis Rengifo will start in his place at the hot corner and bat eighth against Chris Paddack and the Twins on Saturday evening in Los Angeles. Rotoworld Today, 2:29 pm

  • Back at first base Saturday
Abreu is starting at first base and batting eighth in Saturday's contest against the Rockies in Mexico City.

Advice: Abreu has ceded the starting first base job to Jon Singleton as of late, with the former going 1-for-21 over his last seven games. Abreu will hope to turn around his poor start to the season Saturday against Rockies right-hander Cal Quantrill. Rotowire.com Today, 2:24 pm

  • Gets breather versus LHP
Bauers isn't in the Brewers' lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Southpaw Carlos Rodon will start on the hill Saturday for the Yankees, meaning the lefty-hitting Bauers will watch the beginning of the game from the dugout. Rhys Hoskins will cover first base in his absence while William Contreras serves as Milwaukee's DH and Gary Sanchez starts behind the plate. Rotowire.com Today, 2:23 pm

  • Jake Cronenworth not in Padres lineup on Saturday
Jake Cronenworth is absent from the Padres’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s showdown against the Phillies.

Advice: It appears to be nothing more than a regular day of rest for the 30-year-old infielder with left-hander Ranger Suarez toeing the slab for the Phillies. Jurickson Profar will make just his second start of the season at first base while Jose Azocar enters the lineup in left field for the Padres. Rotoworld Today, 1:59 pm

  • Available Saturday
Diaz (hand) is not in the starting lineup but is available as a pinch hitter for Saturday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Diaz left Friday's game after taking a 99-mph fastball off his left pinky in the eighth inning. X-rays came back negative, and while he won't start Saturday, he will be available should the Rays need a right-handed bat. With Diaz in the dugout, lefty-hitting Austin Shenton will start at first base and bat in the cleanup spot against White Sox right-hander Jonathan Cannon. Rotowire.com Today, 1:55 pm

  • Yandy Diaz (hand) held out of lineup on Saturday
Yandy Diaz (hand) was held out of the Rays’ starting lineup for Saturday’s contest against the White Sox.

Advice: The hard-hitting 32-year-old infielder was drilled in the hand by a 99.3 mph fastball from Michael Kopech on Friday night. While he was fortunate to avoid any fractures in the ordeal, he’s still dealing with some soreness and swelling and may need to miss a couple of games even if he does avoid a trip to the injured list. Austin Shenton will start in his place at first base and bat cleanup against Jonathan Cannon and the White Sox. Rotoworld Today, 1:54 pm
