• Donovan stays hot with three-hit game Monday
Brendan Donovan went 3-for-4 with an RBI against the Braves on Monday.

Advice: Donovan’s RBI single in the third inning off Braves starter Spencer Schwellenbach gave the Cardinals a 3-0 lead. He now has a hit in eight consecutive games and 17 of his last 18 games. Donovan is 26-for-71 (.366) with four home runs and 14 RBI in his last 18 games. His season average is up to .269 with a .753 OPS and 39 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:30 pm

  • Riley belts fifth home run in last 10 games
Austin Riley went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Riley’s home run was his eighth of the season. He belted a solo shot off Cardinals starter Lance Lynn in the fifth inning. Riley is heating up after a slow start to the season. In his last 10 games, he’s 15-for-34 (.441) with five home runs and 10 RBI. Riley is hitting just .251 with a .745 OPS on the season, but could provide first round level production the rest of the way. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:26 pm
  • Spencer Steer tallies two hits, three RBI in blowout
Spencer Steer went 2-for-4 with three RBI on Monday in the Reds’ lopsided win over the Pirates.

Advice: It’s pretty remarkable that the Reds finished with 11 runs in this one considering they put three straight zeroes on the scoreboard to open the contest before Steer finally got Cincinnati on the board with a two-run double in the fourth inning. The versatile 26-year-old has five homers and one steal over his last 30 games and is up to nine homers and 12 thefts overall this season through 76 contests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:19 pm

  • Tyler Black takes seat against right-hander
Tyler Black is on the bench against a righty Monday for the first time since being recalled last week.

Advice: Black sat against a lefty in his first day back in the majors, but he had started versus four straight righties since. Tonight, though, the Brewers wanted to give Christian Yelich a day off his feet and put him in the DH spot. Black is 3-for-11 with three walks since being recalled. The Brewers aren’t currently interested in putting Black anywhere other than first base or DH, so when Yelich or someone else besides Rhys Hoskins DHs, there’s no room for Black. • Advances to running bases
Rendon (hamstring) was cleared to run the bases Monday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rendon continues to take steps forward in his rehab, and Bollinger notes that Monday's workout is the first time he's been given the green light to circle the bases since suffering a left hamstring strain. The 34-year-old remains without a firm timeline for a return, though the club should have an idea of what his minor-league rehab assignment will look like in the near future. • Absent from lineup
Black is not in the lineup for Monday's tilt versus the Rangers.

Advice: Black was in the lineup for each of the last four games against right-handers following his recall from Triple-A Nashville, but he'll begin this one on the bench as the Rangers send righty Michael Lorenzen to the bump. Rhys Hoskins is at first base and Christian Yelich will occupy the designated hitter spot. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:19 pm

  • Expected back soon
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Monday that he's optimistic Arenado (forearm) will be ready to return to the lineup in the coming days, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Arenado will miss a second straight start Monday against Atlanta with a left forearm issue, which is evidently something that's bothered the third baseman off and on throughout the season. However, he's feeling better following an injection and was working out on the field pregame Monday. Brandon Crawford will get a second straight start at the hot corner in Arenado's place. • Nolan Arenado (forearm) eyes midweek return
Nolan Arenado took grounders on the field prior to Monday’s game and could rejoin the Cardinals’ lineup in the next few days.

Advice: Arenado is out of the lineup for a second straight game due to left forearm nerve irritation, but it looks like the injection he had over the weekend is helping. Brandon Crawford is again playing third base tonight. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:54 pm
  • Remains out Monday
Arenado (forearm) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Arenado will miss a second straight start after he exited Saturday's 9-4 win over the Giants with left forearm discomfort. He received an injection to help combat the pain and is considered day-to-day. Brandon Crawford will make another start at third base Monday in Arenado's stead. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:51 pm
