    • Swats clutch homer
Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday in an extra-inning loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Rodriguez was hitless in his first three at-bats but came up big in his fourth trip to the plate, smashing a game-tying solo shot in the bottom of the ninth inning. The long ball was just his second across 17 contests since he went deep in back-to-back games May 25-26. Rodriguez has 16 thefts this season but has been fairly disappointing otherwise with just six homers, 26 RBI, 34 runs and a .268/.317/.354 slash line through 300 plate appearances. • Returns with loss Thursday
Munoz (back) picked up the loss in the Mariners' extra-inning defeat against the White Sox, allowing an unearned run in the 10th inning.

Advice: Munoz allowed a walk and a hit, with the go-ahead unearned run scoring on a fielder's choice scoring the automatic runner. The good news was that Munoz didn't allow much in the way of hard contact and generated three swings-and-misses among his 17 pitches, 11 of which were strikes. Rotowire.com Today, 12:42 am
    • Wyatt Langford drives in pair in win over Dodgers
Wyatt Langford drove in a pair of runs to help the Rangers to a 3-1 win over the Dodgers on Thursday.

Advice: Langford singled in a run in the first to give Texas a 2-0 lead, and he extended that lead to 3-0 with another run-scoring knock in the third. The rookie outfielder’s pair of hits and RBI improve his slash to .283/.300/.317 with 19 runs driven in. There have been just enough moments like this to suggest Langford isn’t just a long-term option. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:09 pm

    • Works 4.2 innings
Miller (shoulder) allowed five earned runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four across 4.2 innings in a rehab outing with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Advice: This was likely Miller's final rebab appearance before being activated from the injured list. While the surface stats weren't strong, his fastball was measured between 96 and 99 mph and he threw 51 of 93 pitches for strikes. If the Dodgers elect to keep him on five days rest and bring him back to the big-league roster, Miller would make his return at Coors Field on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:33 pm

    • J-Rod hits game-tying homer in ninth vs. White Sox
Julio Rodríguez hit a game-tying homer in the ninth inning against the White Sox, but the Mariners fell to Chicago in extra-innings.

Advice: With the Mariners trailing 2-1, J-Rod obliterated a Michael Kopech fastball to right-center field that tied the game at 2-2. The outfielder now has six homers on the season; a disappointing total for a player who many (justifiably) thought would be among the league leaders in 2024. Anyone who saw his swing tonight knows that he’s capable of — and likely going to — doing much more going forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:23 pm
    • Hitting streak reaches 11
Reynolds went 1-for-5 with an RBI on Thursday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Reynolds hit a comebacker that glanced off Lance Lynn in the fifth inning to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. He's gone 15-for-46 in that span, while also tallying six RBI and five runs scored. Even with the strong stretch, Reynolds is hitting a mediocre .262 and also has an ISO of only .160 across 306 plate appearances this season -- the lowest mark of his career. • Bobby Miller struggles in final rehab tune-up
Bobby Miller (shoulder) surrendered five runs over 4 2/3 innings on Thursday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: Miller struck out four, issued three walks, and threw 93 pitches (51 strikes) in his fourth and likely final rehab start as he completes his lengthy rehabilitation process from a right shoulder injury. The positive news here is that he averaged 97.4 mph on his four-seam fastball. Unfortunately, he got hit pretty hard and struggled to find the strike zone in this one. He’s likely to rejoin Los Angeles’ starting rotation mix at some point next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:06 pm

    • Burger blasts sixth home run Thursday
Jake Burger went 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run against the Mets on Thursday.

Advice: Burger’s home run was just his sixth of the season in 47 games after homering 34 times in 141 games last year. His .128 ISO isn’t even half of the .268 ISO he had last year. On the bright side, he’s 21-for-64 (.328) with three home runs in his last 16 games to bring his average up to .222. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:00 pm

    • Throws six scoreless in no-decision
Steele did not factor into the decision in Thursday's 3-2 loss to Tampa Bay, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out five over six scoreless innings.

Advice: Steele cruised through five innings then ran into some trouble in the sixth, but he escaped a bases loaded-jam and departed with a 2-0 lead at 93 total pitches. Steele earned his third quality start in his past four outings, but he is still winless on the season after the bullpen allowed three runs. Despite the tough luck, Steele's 3.22 ERA and 1.09 WHIP through nine starts are actually lower than his ratios last season, when he finished fifth in NL Cy Young voting. He will try to earn his first win against the Giants next Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:53 pm
