    • Oneil Cruz sets Statcast record on 3 hits in win
      Oneil Cruz went 3-for-5 with one RBI in a win over the Giants on Tuesday.

      Advice: All three of Cruz’s hits were blasted with a 121.5 mph double, a 120.4 mph single, and a 116.3 mph double. He’s now the first player in the Statcast era to have three hits in one game over 115 mph, and his 121.5 mph double is the hardest-hit ball in MLB action this year, topping the 120.4 mph single he hit earlier in the game today. That’s quite a performance. Cruz is 19-for-64 (.297) in May with four home runs, 10 runs scored, and 11 RBI.       Alvarado earned the save in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rangers, allowing one hit while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.

      Advice: The Rangers got the tying run to the plate with one out in the ninth after an error and a Leody Taveras base hit. However, Alvarado would proceed to strike out Marcus Semien and Corey Seager, picking up his ninth save in a 5-2 win. While the Phillies have utilized a modified committee approach to the ninth inning, the left-handed Alvarado has established himself as their preferred closing option.       José Alvarado pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn a save in the Phillies’ 5-2 win over the Rangers.

      Advice: Alvarado did allow a hit, but he also struck out two and was in no real danger in the inning as he picked up his ninth save of the year. Despite it seeming like the Phillies would go to a closer-by-committee situation earlier in the year, Alvarado has recorded four of the team’s six saves during the month and has now allowed eight hits while striking out six and walking none in 8 2/3 innings.       Trevor Megill fired a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday against the Marlins to record his seventh save of the season.

      Advice: Megill got the call to protect a two-run lead in the final frame and needed just 14 pitches (11 strikes) to slam the door. It was a much-needed bounce-back after suffering his first blown save of the season during Monday’s series opener at loan Depot park.       Olson (hip) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

      Advice: Olson had to make an early exit from his start Monday against the Royals after taking a comebacker off his right hip. The right-hander managed to escape the incident with nothing more than a bruise, but the Tigers will have him throw a bullpen session to make sure Olson will be able to make his next scheduled start Saturday against Toronto.       Advice: After a two-homer game versus the Brewers on Sunday, Tucker showcased his speed Monday. The outfielder is in the midst of another excellent stretch with seven homers and four steals over his last 14 contests. For the season, he's up to a .288/.421/.618 slash line with 15 home runs, 34 RBI, 33 runs scored, nine steals and 11 doubles over 47 games.
