• Orioles place Grayson Rodriguez on 15-day IL
Orioles placed RHP Grayson Rodriguez on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to April 30, with right shoulder inflammation.

Advice: The move comes just two days after Rodriguez’s last start where he allowed zero runs in 5 2/3 innings against the Yankees on Monday. The 24-year-old has posted a 3.71 ERA, 1.41 WHIP with a 37/12 K/BB ratio in his six starts this season. The positive for the Orioles is that the team was able to activate John Means and Kyle Bradish should be back in the rotation soon as well. Rotoworld Today, 9:44 am

  • Orioles activate John Means (elbow) from 15-day IL
Orioles activated LHP John Means (elbow) from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Means will be a welcomed addition to the Orioles starting rotation after the team had to place Grayson Rodriguez on the injured list Wednesday with a shoulder injury. Means looked solid in his last rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk where he allowed just one hit over seven scoreless innings. If he’s available, he could be a solid addition for fantasy managers in deeper leagues. Rotoworld Today, 9:43 am

  • Hits IL with shoulder inflammation
The Orioles placed Rodriguez on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right shoulder inflammation, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Advice: Rodriguez showed no signs of being hindered by an injury in his last start against the Yankees on Monday, striking out three over 5.2 scoreless innings. However, the right-hander's shoulder is evidently bothering him enough that he will miss a least the next two weeks of action. John Means (forearm) was activated from the 15-day IL in a corresponding move and will replaced Rodriguez on the 26-man active roster and in the rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 9:39 am

  • Undergoing MRI on injured back
Matz will undergo an MRI on his injured back Thursday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Matz attempted to pitch through a back issue during a loss to the Tigers on Tuesday, but he struggled and will now undergo testing. The Cardinals will wait until the results of the exam come in before deciding on a potential stint on the injured list for the left-hander. Of the potential candidates on the Cardinals' 40-man roster that could take Matz's rotation spot, Sem Robberse has pitched the best at Triple-A Memphis, sporting a 1.82 ERA and 29:6 K:BB over 29.2 innings. • Steven Matz (back) scheduled for MRI Thursday
Steven Matz (back) is scheduled for an MRI on Thursday.

Advice: Matz attempted to pitch through a lower-back issue on Tuesday and it appears he may have pushed it too much. Cardinals manager Oli Marimol added that the 32-year-old isn’t feeling much better today, so an MRI makes sense and one could speculate a trip to the injured list is likely to happen. Matz has posted a 6.18 ERA through his first six starts which is on pace for his worst-career ERA in a 162-game season. Rotoworld Today, 9:12 am

  • Sent down to Triple-A
The Marlins optioned Ramirez to Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Ramirez made a good first impression in his first-ever stint in the big leagues, tossing 3.1 relief innings for the Marlins. He should get another opportunity with the big club before long. Rotowire.com Today, 9:02 am
  • Recalled ahead of start
The Marlins recalled Munoz from Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Munoz will start Wednesday's game versus the Rockies in place of the injured Jesus Luzardo (elbow). The right-hander pitched well in a spot start last month in his major league debut, allowing two runs with seven strikeouts over five innings. Munoz has had a disastrous season at Jacksonville, however, holding an 8.62 ERA and 9:14 K:BB in 15.2 frames. He's not a recommended streaming option even in a favorable matchup. • White Sox call up Jared Shuster
White Sox recalled LHP Jared Shuster from Triple-A Charlotte.

Advice: Shuster will be the 27th man on the roster for Chicago’s second game of a doubleheader against the Royals. The 25-year-old has made two appearances for the White Sox this season and has posted a solid 1.42 ERA, 1.11 WHIP with a 4/2 K/BB ratio in 6 1/3 innings. Rotoworld Today, 8:28 am
  • White Sox option Prelander Berroa to Triple-A
White Sox optioned RHP Prelander Berroa to Triple-A Charlotte.

Advice: Berrora came into Tuesday’s game against the Royals in the eighth inning where he got out of a bases loaded jam when Kyle Farmer grounded out to third base. The 24-year-old has struggled at the minor league level with a 8.74 ERA in his 11 appearances (two starts) with Charlotte. He’ll have to continue to develop before he becomes an option the White Sox can rely on in high-leverage situations. Rotoworld Today, 8:28 am
