    • Nabs 10th save
Yates picked up the save over the Dodgers on Thursday, allowing one walk over a scoreless ninth inning while striking out three.

Advice: Yates had a bit of a hard time getting through the ninth after entering the contest with a two-run lead, surrendering a leadoff walk to Teoscar Hernandez on five pitches and advancing him to second base on a balk. However, the veteran reliever made short work of the next three batters, getting all three to go down swinging as he secured his 10th save in as many chances. Yates has been solid in the closer role for Texas thus far and holds a 1.11 ERA on the campaign. He's also recorded multiple strikeouts in three of his last four appearances and has yet to surrender a home run in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:04 am

    • Kirby Yates whiffs three in save against Dodgers
Kirby Yates struck out three in a scoreless ninth to get a save against the Dodgers on Thursday.

Advice: Yates did allow a walk, but this was a much better effort than the one he had Wednesday when he picked up a save but was fortunate to not blow the opportunity. The right-hander has been outstanding for the overwhelming majority of 2024, and this scoreless outing gives him a 1.11 ERA along with 10 saves. He isn’t giving up this closing gig. Not anytime soon, anyway. Rotoworld Thursday, 10:09 pm

    • Nails down 16th save
Kimbrel struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to record his 16th save of the season in a 4-2 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Facing the team he made his debut with back in 2010, Kimbrel delivered his 12th straight appearance without allowing an earned run. The hot streak has lowered the veteran closer's ERA on the season to 2.59, to go along with a 0.95 WHIP and 34:10 K:BB through 24.1 innings. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:19 am
    • Close call in ninth save
Yates allowed a run on two hits and a walk over one inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Yates wasn't sharp in the ninth inning, putting runners on first and second with two outs. Jason Heyward doubled to center field to knock in one run, but Andy Pages ignored a stop sign at third base and the relay throw from Marcus Semien to Jonah Heim was in time to get the final out at the plate. Prior to Wednesday, Yates was on a six-inning scoreless streak dating back to May 15, though he had just one save in that span due to the Rangers' generally poor play. For the season, he's at a 1.16 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 29:11 K:BB through 23.1 innings while adding nine saves and two holds. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:52 pm

    • Kirby Yates holds on for ninth save vs. Dodgers
Kirby Yates allowed one run in the ninth inning for the save against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Yates was summoned in the ninth inning to close out the game with a two-run lead. He put two runners on with a hit and a walk with two outs before Jason Hayward doubled to bring home a run. Andy Pages would be called out at home on the play to end the game. Yates picks up his ninth save of the season while posting a 1.16 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and a 29/11 K/BB ratio across 23 1/3 innings. Rotoworld Wednesday, 10:12 pm

    • Craig Kimbrel earns 16th save against Braves
Craig Kimbrel protected a two-run lead with a perfect ninth for a save Wednesday against the Braves.

Advice: Kimbrel has allowed just a lone unearned run over his last 12 appearances. He’s 16-for-19 saving games, and his ERA stands at 2.59. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:38 pm
    • Secures 15th save
Kimbrel picked up the save in Monday's 5-2 victory over Tampa Bay. He pitched a scoreless inning allowing no hits and one walk with two strikeouts.

Advice: Trouble seemed to be brewing in the ninth for Kimbrel as he issued a leadoff walk to Amed Rosario, his first free pass allowed since May 8. However, the veteran closer collected himself, punching out two batters before wrapping up the Baltimore win by inducing a Jose Caballero popup. Including this effort, Kimbrel has pitched 11 consecutive outings without allowing an earned run, firing 10 innings with a 0.30 WHIP and 12:1 K:BB. Rotowire.com Monday, 6:46 pm
    • Craig Kimbrel quiets Rays to notch 15th save
Craig Kimbrel tossed a scoreless frame on Monday against the Rays to collect his 15th save of the season.

Advice: Kimbrel got the call to protect a three-run lead in the final frame and managed to work around a leadoff walk to Amed Rosario by striking out Jose Siri and Richie Palacios before coaxing a game-ending pop up from José Caballero. The 36-year-old veteran stopper has righted the ship over the last few weeks since reclaiming Baltimore’s closer role back in mid-May by converting second consecutive save opportunities since May 19. • Charged with loss
Hader (3-4) took the loss Sunday against the Angels after allowing two runs on two hits while striking out a batter over two-thirds of an inning.

Advice: Hader faced five total batters but only was able to record two outs. He entered with two outs in the eighth and got out of the frame. He then returned for the ninth to try and preserve a 7-7 tie and was unable to do so. Hader retired the first batter he faced but then allowed a base hit and a walk-off two-run homer to Logan O'Hoppe. It was Hader's first time allowing multiple runs in an outing since April 15 and his first loss since May 5. It's now been a full week since Hader's picked up his last save, and he sits at nine for the year after tallying 30-plus in each of his last four full seasons. He owns a 4.08 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 46:10 K:BB in 28.2 innings thus far. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:12 am
