    • Josh Hader gets win after two perfect innings
      Josh Hader picked up a win after pitching perfect ninth and 10th innings against the Angels on Tuesday.

      Yamamoto (5-1) earned the win Monday over the Diamondbacks, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out eight over 6.1 innings.

      Advice: Yamamoto was able to rebound after being not at his best last Monday versus the Giants. The rookie right-hander put together his fifth quality start in his last six outings, though the win was briefly endangered after Elieser Hernandez gave up a pair of solo home runs in the eighth inning. Yamamoto is at a 3.17 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 61:11 K:BB through 54 innings over 10 starts this season.       Stroman yielded a run on three hits and a walk over 7.1 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out six during the win over Seattle.

      Advice: Stroman cruised through seven shutout frames before coughing up a solo homer to Dominic Canzone in the eighth inning. Stroman was in line for his fourth win before the Yankees blew the lead in the ninth. He's produced a 2.22 ERA over his last four starts, dropping his season ERA to 3.05 through 56 innings. He's turned in two straight quality starts after failing to finish at least six frames in his previous six appearances. Stroman is in line to start in San Diego this weekend.     • Stroman allows one run in no-decision
      Marcus Stroman allowed one run in 7 1/3 innings, struck out six and got a no-decision in the Yankees’ 5-4 loss to the Mariners on Monday.



      Advice: Stroman was in line for his fourth win of the season, but the bullpen was unable to hold the lead. He began the eighth inning by striking out Dylan Moore before allowing a solo home run to Dominic Canzone as the only run he allowed all night. Yankees manager Aaron Boone then removed Stroman for Luke Weaver. Stroman lowered his ERA to 3.05 on the season with his fourth quality start in 10 tries. The 33-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the Padres on the road on Saturday.

      Whitlock has damage in his right UCL and will likely need surgery, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

      Advice: Whitlock was shut down from throwing after he reported soreness in his right elbow Wednesday, and after further evaluation, it's been discovered that he has ligament damage.       Garrett Whitlock has UCL damage in his elbow and will receive a second opinion later this week.

    • Craig Kimbrel back in closer’s role for Orioles
      Orioles manager Brandon Hyde mostly confirmed Monday that Craig Kimbrel is again Baltimore’s closer.

      Advice: It’s no surprise after Kimbrel picked up a clean save Sunday, but confirmation is always nice. MASN’s Steve Melewski quoted Hyde as saying: “Well yeah, I think so. Probably.       Sewald secured the save Sunday against the Tigers by working a perfect ninth inning. He struck out one.

      Advice: Sewald needed just 10 pitches to get the job done and picked up a strikeout against Spencer Torkelson in the process. He's now converted all three of his save chances on the year and has tossed four straight scoreless innings while giving up just one hit since yielding a run in his season debut May 7.       Kimbrel pitched a clean ninth inning, striking out two to pick up a save Sunday against the Mariners.

      Advice: It appears Kimbrel has found his groove again, and he was rewarded with a save opportunity while posting his fourth consecutive appearance without allowing a hit or a walk.
