    • Josh Hader gets win after two perfect innings
Josh Hader picked up a win after pitching perfect ninth and 10th innings against the Angels on Tuesday.

Advice: Hader fanned four while pitching two innings for the second time in his last three appearances. He’s allowed one run and struck out 14 in 9 1/3 innings this month, lowering his ERA from 6.39 to 4.09. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

    • Expected to require surgery
Whitlock has damage in his right UCL and will likely need surgery, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Whitlock was shut down from throwing after he reported soreness in his right elbow Wednesday, and after further evaluation, it's been discovered that he has ligament damage. The right-hander will see a doctor in Birmingham later in the week, as he could be in the process of seeking a second opinion before electing surgery. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:22 pm

    • Elbow surgery a possibility for Garrett Whitlock
Garrett Whitlock has UCL damage in his elbow and will receive a second opinion later this week.

Advice: Unfortunate, but it did seem like was coming. Assuming that Whitlock has surgery, he’ll almost certainly miss the rest of the season, and his return next year might come as a reliever. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:17 pm

    • Craig Kimbrel back in closer’s role for Orioles
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde mostly confirmed Monday that Craig Kimbrel is again Baltimore’s closer.

Advice: It’s no surprise after Kimbrel picked up a clean save Sunday, but confirmation is always nice. MASN’s Steve Melewski quoted Hyde as saying: “Well yeah, I think so. Probably. I’m going to see how he feels today. … He looked great yesterday that was awesome. Really happy.” Yennier Cano can be dropped in shallow mixed leagues for now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:24 pm
    • Locks down save No. 3
Sewald secured the save Sunday against the Tigers by working a perfect ninth inning. He struck out one.

Advice: Sewald needed just 10 pitches to get the job done and picked up a strikeout against Spencer Torkelson in the process. He's now converted all three of his save chances on the year and has tossed four straight scoreless innings while giving up just one hit since yielding a run in his season debut May 7. • Impressive in return to closer role
Kimbrel pitched a clean ninth inning, striking out two to pick up a save Sunday against the Mariners.

Advice: It appears Kimbrel has found his groove again, and he was rewarded with a save opportunity while posting his fourth consecutive appearance without allowing a hit or a walk. It was the first save since May 3 for Kimbrel, who had posted a 16.20 ERA and 4.50 WHIP over 3.1 innings in the six outings prior to this most recent four-game stretch. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:15 pm
    • Paul Sewald closes out Tigers on Sunday afternoon
Paul Sewald slammed the door on the Tigers on Sunday afternoon, working a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a two-run advantage.

Advice: The 33-year-old hurler picked up his third save of the season for his efforts. He made it look awfully easy in this one, needing just 10 pitches (nine strikes) to get Wenceel Perez on a fly ball, Spencer Torkelson on strikes and Javier Baez on a pop out to second base to end it. On the season, Sewald now holds a 1.80 ERA, 0.60 WHIP and a 5/1 K/BB ratio across his first five innings of work. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:18 pm
    • Craig Kimbrel perfect in return to closer’s role
Getting a chance to close for the first time since May 8, Craig Kimbrel struck out two in a perfect ninth Sunday against the Mariners.

Advice: This was truly easing him back into the closer’s role; not only did he have a three-run lead, but he was getting the bottom third of the Mariners lineup. Kimbrel has allowed just one batter to reach in four scoreless innings since his May 8 outing knocked him out of the closer’s role for a spell. He’ll likely be the primary guy for now, though it’d be best if he could go a couple of more weeks without any miscues. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:54 pm
    • Picks up save Friday
Hader struck out one batter in a perfect inning and earned the save over the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Hader made quick work of the Brewers, needing just 12 pitches to snag his sixth save of the year. After a disastrous start to his Astros career -- a 9.39 ERA with one save through nine appearances -- Hader has seemingly settled in with his new team. He's allowed just two earned runs over his last 12.1 innings, lowering his season ERA to 4.50. He's riding a 5.1-inning scoreless streak with three saves and a win during that span.
