      Tylor Megill allowed four runs in 5 1/3 innings and got a no-decision against the Astros on Saturday.



      Advice: Megill gave up five hits, walked three and struck out six. He pitched well enough to win and looked like he was going to before the Mets bullpen blew a late lead. Megill has a 5.08 ERA on the season, but he’s pitched better than that as his xFIP is 3.92. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Nationals on the road next week.

    • Valdez allows six runs in no-decision Saturday
      Framber Valdez allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Astros’ 9-6 victory over the Mets on Saturday.



      Advice: Valdez gave up 10 hits, walked three and struck out five. He allowed at least five runs for the second time in his last four starts. Valdez’ ERA is 4.11 on the year, though there is some hope for him to bounce back given his 3.55 xFIP. The 30-year-old left-hander is set to face the Blue Jays on the road next week.

      Darvish (elbow) has resumed playing light catch, per MLB.com.

      Advice: Darvish was expected to come off the injured list and make a start for the Padres on Tuesday, but a bout of right elbow inflammation put a halt to that plan. The right-hander underwent imaging that came back clean, and the fact that he's now doing light throwing suggests that the issue isn't serious. The southpaw hurler did allow six hits and three walks, but he was unscored upon minus a sac fly in the fifth inning from Edward Olivares.     • Paul Skenes strike out nine against Atlanta
      Paul Skenes struck out nine over six innings of one-run baseball but didn’t factor into the decision Saturday against Atlanta.

      Advice: Skenes gave up a leadoff homer to Jarred Kelenic in the first, and from that point out he was essentially lights out. The right-hander scattered six total hits in the contests with two walks allowed and 61-of-102 pitches going for strikes. To say that Skenes has lived up to the hype thus far is an understatement, and over his last four starts he’s given up a total of three runs with a 32/4 K/BB over 25 1/3 innings.
