      Advice: Ragans gave up six hits, walked one and struck out six. This start broke a streak of five consecutive quality starts for Ragans. He has a 3.33 ERA and 3.11 xFIP on the year. The 26-year-old left-hander is set to face the Rockies on the road next week.

    • Bibee picks up seventh win against Royals Saturday
      Tanner Bibee allowed two runs in six innings and got the win in the Guardians’ 7-2 victory over the Royals on Saturday.

      Advice: Bibee gave up four hits, walked none and struck out three. The win was his seventh of the season and third in a row. It wasn’t a big strikeout game for Bibee, just another solid outing. He has a 3.47 ERA and 3.29 xFIP on the year. The 25-year-old right-hander is set to face the Giants at home next week.

    • Michael King bounces back with six strong in win
      Michael King held the Red Sox to one run over six innings with six strikeouts while picking up a win Saturday.

      Advice: King didn’t have to be at his best with Tanner Houck faltering, but he was pretty close to it, anyway. The right-hander gave up a solo homer to Jarren Duran, and that was it in terms of scoring blemishes. King has been fairly up-and-down in his first year with the Padres, but there have been enough quality starts like this one to keep the optimism going.       Tanner Houck gave up eight runs — seven earned — over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Padres on Saturday.

      Advice: Houck has been fantastic for the overwhelming majority of 2024. There wasn’t anything fantastic about this outing, other than he gave reason for San Diego hitters to have some fun. The right-hander gave up nine hits with one walk, and while he was able to at least add four punchouts, they don’t compensate for giving up three homers. Houck hadn’t allowed more than three runs since April 12, so it’s fair to write this one off as a “pobody’s nerfect.” He’s scheduled to face the Yankees on Friday, and he’ll try and lower an ERA that jumped from 2.18 to 2.67 after this clunker.       Roddery Muñoz allowed two runs with four strikeout over 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Phillies on Saturday.

      Advice: Muñoz worked through two scoreless frames before Garrett Stubbs took him deep for a solo homer to lead off the third inning. A walk, base hit, and sacrifice fly would bring in a second run for the Phillies in the fifth inning before Muñoz was replaced on the mound with two outs at 79 pitches. He struck out four. The 24-year-old ends the day with a 5.58 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and a 38/20 K/BB ratio across 40 1/3 innings. He’s lined up for a start against the White Sox in Miami on Friday.       Advice: Civale gave up six hits, walked four and struck out two. CJ Abrams homered to start the game, but Civale was pretty solid after that. He’s actually been quite a bit better than his 5.07 ERA on the season suggests given his 4.06 xFIP. Civale could be a decent buy low candidate. The 29-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rangers on the road next week.

    • Aaron Nola strikes out nine in loss Saturday
      Aaron Nola allowed three runs with nine strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings in a loss to the Marlins on Saturday.

      Advice: A solo homer by Nick Gordon in the second inning was the only run Nola had allowed going into the seventh. He stayed in just a bit too long as two doubles and a base hit would bring two more runs in to score for the Marlins, costing Nola the chance for the win. Still, he struck out nine batters with no walks in the solid outing. The 31-year-old right-hander will take a 3.43 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and a 99/25 K/BB ratio across 107 2/3 innings into a start against the Braves in Atlanta on Friday. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago

    • Irvin allows one in six innings in win over Rays
      Jake Irvin allowed one run in six innings and got the win in the Nationals’ 8-1 victory over the Rays on Saturday.



      Advice: Irvin gave up one hit, walked three and struck out six. He allowed a solo home run to Brandon Lowe in the first inning, but was otherwise excellent. Irvin won four of his five starts in June and lowered his ERA to 3.03 on the year. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Mets at home next week.
