• Hector Neris works around jam to pick up save
Hector Neris allowed two baserunners, but was able to fire a scoreless inning while picking up a save against the Brewers on Saturday.

Advice: The Hector Neris experience is often successful, but it’s always an experience. The right-hander allowed the winning run to reach the plate after giving up a hit and a walk, but he was able to strike out pinch-hitter Tyler Black and Brice Turang to keep the runners off the board and pick up his 11th save of 2024. • Tobias Myers gets quality start, no-decision
Tobias Myers went six innings while allowing three runs and not factoring into the decision Saturday against the Cubs.

Advice: Myers dealt with quite a bit of traffic Saturday, as he allowed seven hits and also issued a pair of walks. He was able to work around that traffic for the most part, thanks largely to six strikeouts and a couple of double plays. The 25-year-old gave up a two-run homer to Michael Busch in the first, but it was (mostly) smooth sailing from that point on. Myers does see his ERA jump up to 3.26, but that’s still a very solid number for the right-handed hurler. He faces Colorado next, and it’s worth pointing out that start will take place in Denver. • Jake Bloss (shoulder) throwing bullpen on Sunday
Jake Bloss (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Sunday.

Advice: Bloss resumed throwing earlier this week and figures to be ready to return from the injured list at some point in early July. The 23-year-old rookie landed on the injured list last week with right shoulder inflammation. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:32 am

  • Added to roster
The Cardinals selected Graceffo's contract from Triple-A Memphis on Friday.

Advice: Graceffo has posted a 3.84 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 70:29 K:BB across 75 frames with Memphis this season. All 14 of his appearances have been starts, and while it's possible he'll get a look in the rotation eventually with the Cardinals, the plan for now is to break him in as a reliever. Graceffo will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:20 pm
  • Cardinals promote Gordon Graceffo for MLB debut
Cardinals selected the contract of RHP Gordon Graceffo from Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Graceffo, who is in the majors for the first time at age 24, will likely see innings behind Andre Pallante tonight, but whether he sticks around afterwards could depend on just how many innings that becomes. He comes into this having won his last four Triple-A starts and not giving up a run in the last two. Overall, he had a 3.84 ERA and a 70/29 K/BB in 75 innings. Rotoworld Friday, 12:13 pm
  • Starts rehab assignment
Garcia (elbow) has been sent to the Astros' Florida Complex League affiliate to begin a rehab assignment.

Advice: It will be the first game action for Garcia since he underwent Tommy John surgery last May. The 27-year-old will need most, if not all, of his 30-day rehab window to get built up, but he could prove to be a nice boost to the Astros' rotation after the All-Star break. Garcia holds a career 3.61 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 364:112 K:BB across 352 innings. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:34 am

  • Cardinals calling up Gordon Graceffo on Friday
The Athletic’s Katie Woo reports the Cardinals are calling up pitching prospect Gordon Graceffo.

Advice: Graceffo will provide the Cardinals with some length out of the bullpen heading into Friday’s game against the Reds behind starter Andre Pallante. The 24-year-old righty has compiled a solid 3.84 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 70/29 K/BB ratio across 75 innings (14 starts) this season for Triple-A Memphis. There isn’t a ton of appeal here for fantasy managers, but he’s a notable pitching prospect, and could find his way into a more prominent role if he excels in long relief. Rotoworld Friday, 3:11 am
  • Records 11th save
Scott earned a save against the Phillies on Thursday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Scott made quick work of Philadelphia in the ninth frame, retiring the side in order on nine pitches. The lefty closer has not given up a run in any of his past seven outings, tallying a win and three saves despite a mediocre 5:3 K:BB over seven innings during that span. Scott is 11-for-13 in save chances on the season and has an excellent 1.54 ERA across 35 frames. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:17 pm
  • Headed for majors
The Cardinals intend to promote Graceffo to the majors Friday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The Cardinals have gotten short outings from Kyle Gibson and Miles Mikolas in the last two days, so Graceffo will begin his big-league career out of the bullpen. It's possible that changes as the season progresses, as Graceffo has been used exclusively as a starter this season at Triple-A Memphis and for nearly the entirety of his minor-league career. He's maintained a 3.84 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with Memphis but has a solid 70:29 K:BB across 75 frames and also has good prospect pedigree. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:18 pm
