• Tyler Locklear hits second homer versus Rangers
Tyler Locklear hit his second MLB homer Sunday off the Rangers’ José LeClerc.

Advice: Ty France’s return is just around the corner, but Locklear is making a case to stick around afterwards as a platoon DH, even if his 12/1 K/BB in 29 plate appearances is hideous. After all, he’s now tied for third on the Mariners with his two homers. Not truly, but you believed it for a second, didn’t you? Rotoworld 6 minutes ago
  • Leody Taveras goes 0-for-3 in loss to Mariners
Leody Taveras went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts Sunday, leaving him 2-for-39 this month.

Advice: Taveras was a league-average hitter through two months, but this slump has him all of the way down to .211/.281/.322. At this rate, the Rangers might have to think about adding another outfielder prior to the trade deadline. Rotoworld 6 minutes ago

  • Miguel Vargas expected to join Dodgers in Colorado
Miguel Vargas is expected to join the Dodgers in Colorado on Monday with Mookie Betts (hand) landing on the injured list.

Advice: Vargas was just optioned to Triple-A on Wednesday, but he’ll head right back with Betts heading to the injured list. Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts said that Miguel Rojas and Enrique Hernandez are likely to see the bulk of the action at shortstop with Betts sidelined, but that Vargas will fill a role on the team’s bench. If he gets a chance at starts to hit though, it’s going to be hard for Roberts to keep Vargas’ bat out of the lineup. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago

  • Rowdy Tellez goes 3-for-5, drives in two
Rowdy Tellez went 3-for-5 with two RBI as the Pirates topped the Rockies 8-2 on Sunday.

Advice: Tellez is up to .419 with nine RBI in just 31 at-bats this month. There still isn’t really any mixed-league value here, but it should be quite a while before he’s again left out of the Pirates lineup against a right-hander. Rotoworld Today, 3:25 pm

  • Adael Amador finishes hitless in loss to Pirates
Adael Amador went 0-for-3 on Sunday, leaving him 3-for-26 as a major leaguer.

Advice: Amador has hit the ball hard on occasion, but he’s sporting a .115/.115/.115 line through seven games. It doesn’t sound like Brendan Rodgers will be sidelined for long, so Amador will probably head back to the minors soon. Rotoworld Today, 3:24 pm

  • Max Kepler (elbow) returns to Twins lineup
Max Kepler (elbow) returned to the Twins’ starting lineup for the nightcap of Sunday’s doubleheader against the Athletics.

Advice: Kepler was held out of the team’s starting lineup on Saturday — before that game was washed out by rain. He then sat out the first game of Sunday’s twin bill with a left-hander on the hill for the A’s, but he’s right back in his customary cleanup spot in the order for the second game on Sunday night. • Breather in Game 2
Miranda is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader with the Athletics.

Advice: Miranda will head to the bench after he went 2-for-4 in the team's 6-2 win in Game 1. Trevor Larnach will slot in at designated hitter while Manuel Margot enters the lineup in left field and bats seventh against Oakland. Rotowire.com Today, 3:05 pm

Jeffers is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader with the Athletics.

Advice: Jeffers will get a breather after he went 1-for-4 in the team's 6-2 win over Oakland in Game 1. Christian Vazquez will take over behind the plate and bat eighth in the nightcap. Rotowire.com Today, 2:56 pm

  • Likely to be activated this week
Gonzalez (hamstring) will travel with the Red Sox to Toronto for their upcoming three-game series with the Blue Jays and is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list Monday or Tuesday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Gonzalez completed his rehab assignment Sunday with Triple-A Worcester with a four-hit performance, and he went 6-for-10 overall while playing three of the past four days. Once activated, Gonzalez will likely supplant Jamie Westbrook as the short-side platoon mate for the lefty-hitting Enmanuel Valdez at second base. Rotowire.com Today, 2:54 pm
