• Late addition to lineup
Montero will play first base and bat cleanup Saturday against Pittsburgh, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Advice: Brenton Doyle (knee) was scratched from the lineup Saturday, and as a result Jake Cave will move to center field as Michael Toglia moves to right, opening up first base for Montero. Montero has just two hits in his last 23 at-bats and owns a .546 OPS on the year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:03 pm

  • Brenton Doyle scratched with knee issue Saturday
Brenton Doyle was scratched from the Rockies’ starting lineup on Saturday night due to left patella tendinitis.

Advice: The fact that he was in the team’s initial lineup before getting scratched bodes well for his availability moving forward. Doyle should be considered day-to-day. Michael Toglia will start in his place in right field and will bat sixth for the Rockies on Saturday night against Jared Jones and the Pirates. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:00 pm

  • Scratched from lineup
Doyle was scratched from the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates with left patella tendinitis, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Advice: Doyle was slated to bat second and play center field Saturday, but he's been removed from the starting lineup with left knee pain. Instead, Jake Cave will slide to center, Michael Toglia will play right and Elehuris Montero will enter the lineup at first base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:59 pm

  • Mickey Moniak blasts solo homer vs. Giants
Mickey Moniak went 1-for-4 with a solo homer against the Giants on Saturday.

Advice: Moniak put the Angels on the board with a solo homer off Keaton Winn in the second inning for his only hit of the day. It was the third homer of the season for the 26-year-old outfielder while slashing .195/.243/.302 with 15 RBI and four steals across 169 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:53 pm
  • On bench Saturday
Calhoun is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's contest against the Giants, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Calhoun will remain on the bench for a third game in a row. Taylor Ward will make another start at designated hitter after recently battling a back issue, while Kevin Pillar enters the lineup in left field and bats fourth versus San Francisco. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:49 am
  • Up to second in order
Doyle went 2-for-5 Friday against the Pirates.

Advice: Doyle has been productive across his last eight games, collecting nine hits across 32 at-bats while scoring five runs, driving in five and stealing four bases. He's also hit second in Colorado's lineup in four of the team's last six contests, and he stayed in that position even with Nolan Jones back in the lineup Friday. • Swipes fifth bag
Hayes went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base Friday against the Rockies.

Advice: Hayes hasn't hit well across 13 games since returning from a back injury, as he's maintained only a .240 average with one extra-base hit. However, he has shown the desire to steal bases by recording all five of his thefts on the season since his return. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:57 am
  • Rips three extra-base hits
Moniak went 3-for-5 with a triple, two doubles, two RBI and one run scored in Friday's 8-6 win over the Giants.

Advice: Moniak supplied a two-run double in the third inning. He's hit safely in six straight games, going 8-for-19 (.421) with five RBI, four walks and two stolen bases in that span. Kevin Pillar has been excellent since joining the Angels in May, but he'd been platooning with Moniak until recently. With Taylor Ward slumping and potentially on the trade block, there could be room for Pillar in left field and Moniak in center, though the latter will have to keep hitting to maintain playing time. Moniak is slashing .192/.241/.282 with two home runs, six doubles, one triple, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored and four steals over 166 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Friday, 11:07 pm
  • Mickey Moniak triples, doubles twice in victory
Mickey Moniak tripled and doubled twice while driving in a pair of runs in an 8-6 win over the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Both RBI came on one of those extra-base hits, as he gave the Halos a 4-0 lead with a two-run double. The first pick of the 2016 draft is still slashing an ugly .192/.241/.282, but he does have a six-game hitting streak. It’s possible this is the beginning of turning things around, but nothing Moniak has done over his career suggests that’s a reasonable ask. Rotoworld Friday, 10:17 pm
