Gelof is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gelof has started in all 47 games he's been healthy this season but will step out of the starting nine Sunday after going 0-for-9 with four strikeouts in his past four contests. Aledmys Diaz will handle the keystone and bat eighth in the series finale versus Toronto. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:39 am
    • Mateo (concussion) takes grounders before game
Jorge Mateo (concussion) took part in infield practice prior to Sunday’s game against the Rays.

Advice: Mateo is eligible to come off the 7-day concussion injured list before Monday’s game against the Rays. The infielder obviously isn’t required to be activated off the list, but participating in pre-game activities is a good sign. If Mateo is activated, Connor Norby is all but assuredly the name that will head down to Triple-A to make room for him on the roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:27 am

    • Not starting Sunday
Norby is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

Advice: Norby started in Saturday's 5-0 win, going 1-for-4 while scoring a run. With Norby beginning Sunday's game in the dugout, Jordan Westburg will shift to second base, while Ramon Urias starts at the hot corner against Tampa Bay right-hander Zack Littell. Since being promoted from Triple-A Norfolk on June 3, Norby has gone 3-for-14 with one home run and two RBI. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:57 am
    • IL move official
The Rockies placed Rodgers (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Sunday.

Advice: The move was reported Saturday, and the transaction is now official with prospect Adael Amador getting a call-up from Double-A Hartford to join the Rockies. Rodgers will be eligible to be reinstated June 18, but it's unclear exactly how long he's expected to be sidelined by the hamstring strain. Amador and Alan Trejo should handle second base for Colorado while Rodgers is out. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:57 am

    • Batting eighth in MLB debut
The Rockies called up Amador from Double-A Hartford, and he'll start at second base and bat eighth Sunday at St. Louis.

Advice: The 21-year-old is taking the roster spot of Brendan Rodgers (hamstring), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday. Amador is one of the organization's top prospects, and he'll make his MLB debut without seeing action at the Triple-A level. Amador's .666 OPS in 208 plate appearances for Hartford this season isn't encouraging, though he carried a hot bat over his past nine games and had a .359/.422/.846 slash line with six home runs and six stolen bases. • Rodgers officially goes on IL with hamstring injury
Rockies placed INF Brendan Rodgers on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 8, with a left hamstring strain.

Advice: Rodgers strained his hamstring while running through the bag during Friday’s game against the Cardinals, and he’ll need to miss at least a week with the injury. The infielder will be out with top prospect Adael Amador receiving the promotion to take his place on the roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:30 am

    • Rockies recall top prospect Amador from Double-A
Rockies recalled INF Adael Amador from Double-A Hartford.

Advice: As expected, Amador is up from Double-A to take the roster spot of Brendan Rodgers after Rodgers was placed on the injured list. He’ll hit eighth and play second base in his MLB debut Sunday. Amador is the top hitting prospect in the Colorado system, and while he’s registered just a .664 OPS thus far in Double-A, he’s been much better with the bat as of late with six homers in his last 10 games. There’s some serious risk with a 21-year-old coming up from Double-A, but there’s potential for reward as well. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:27 am

    • Records fourth steal in loss
Schuemann went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in a loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: The Athletics fell victim to Kevin Gausman's first career shutout and went down on strikes 10 times against the veteran right-hander, so Schuemann's performance is one that passes for a successful one in that context. The rookie now has singles in back-to-back games and is enjoying a solid June thus far, producing a .348 average and .766 OPS across his first 24 plate appearances of the month (seven games). • Batting leadoff Sunday
Perez is starting in right field and batting first in Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Advice: Perez wasn't in the starting lineup Saturday, though he did appear as a pinch hitter, and he'll be back in there Sunday. The 24-year-old rookie is 0-for-12 across his last four games, which has lowered his batting average from .268 to .247. Despite the recent slump, Perez should continue to see semi-regular playing time moving forward, mixing in with Riley Greene, Matt Vierling and Akil Baddoo in Detroit's outfield.
