    • Back in minors
The Nationals returned Rutledge to Triple-A Rochester after Tuesday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

Advice: Rutledge pitched one inning during the nightcap in what was his season debut, allowing one earned run on two hits while striking out one batter. He holds a 6.33 ERA and 1.63 WHIP through 27 innings across seven starts in the minors, and he would likely need to show significant improvement before he draws consideration for an extended stint in the big leagues. • Returned to Charlotte
The White Sox returned Anderson to Triple-A Charlotte after Tuesday's doubleheader against Washington.

Advice: Anderson pitched a scoreless inning during the first game of the twin bill, giving up one walk while punching out two batters. He owns a 2.81 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 16 frames in Triple-A, and he could return to the majors later this year if Chicago's bullpen depth is tested further. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago

    • Paddack allows 12 hits, five earned runs vs. Yanks
Chris Paddack allowed 12 hits and five earned runs over five innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Paddack struggled in the second inning of this one, allowing four hits and two runs before retiring Juan Soto and Aaron Judge to end the inning. He’d give up a solo homer to Giancarlo Stanton in the third inning and was pulled after the fifth inning and 95 pitches. Paddack tied a season-high with 12 hits allowed in this one and saw his WHIP rise to 1.65. His next start is slated to come on Sunday against the Guardians. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

    • Civale doesn’t miss bats in no-decision vs BOS
Aaron Civale allowed three runs on five hits in five innings in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: Civale also struck out six and walked nobody on the night. However, he did allow seven hard-hit baseballs, including a home run to Ceddanne Rafaela, and posted a minuscule five percent walk rate. Yes, Civale got just two whiffs on 37 swings all evening. It’s hard to get overly excited about the strikeouts when he’s unable to get swings and misses. Overall, the season has been a disappointment for Civale. The right-hander has a 5.83 ERA and is not longer much more than a streamer at this point. It’s hard to trust him against the Blue Jays this weekend. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

    • Nick Pivetta bounces back with solid effort vs TB
Nick Pivetta allowed two runs on four hits in 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rays.

Advice: Pivetta struck out eight on the day while walking none, but he was doomed by two solo home runs. The right-hander got back on track after his rough return from the IL, posting a 29 percent whiff rate and 40 percent CSW. His sweeper was particularly dominant, getting five whiffs on eight swings and posting a 47 percent CSW. Pivetta also threw his curveball 1.3 mph harder than usual and found some success with it, so that’s something to watch for future starts. He’ll take a 3.48 ERA into an appealing start against a reeling Cardinals offense this weekend. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

    • Rodón solid through six as Yankees down Twins
Carlos Rodón allowed one earned run over six innings while striking out six and earning the win on Tuesday against the Twins.

Advice: Rodón gave up a leadoff homer to Ryan Jeffers in the first inning but settled in nicely after. Three of the six hits he allowed came in the first inning, as he went on to scatter just three more hits over the following five frames. He lowered his ERA on the season to 3.31 and is now sitting on a 4-2 record through nine starts. He’ll look to pick up his fifth win of the season on Sunday against the White Sox. • Erick Fedde twirls seven-inning gem vs. Nats
Erick Fedde recorded six strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Tuesday in a win over the Nationals.

Advice: Fedde took the ball for the nightcap of Tuesday’s twin bill against the Nationals and wound up scattering three hits over seven stellar frames. He wasn’t overpowering, generating just six swinging strikes, but limited Washington’s lineup to just eight batted ball with an exit velocity over 95 mph. He’s fired 13 consecutive scoreless frames over his last two starts. He’ll bring a strong 2.60 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 50/14 K/BB ratio across 52 innings (nine starts) into a road matchup on Monday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld 39 minutes ago

    • Mitchell Parker allows three runs in loss to White Sox
Mitchell Parker was charged with three runs over five innings on Tuesday in a loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Parker was fortunate that the damage was only three runs as he left with the bases loaded in the sixth inning and was bailed out by teammate Jordan Weems. He struck out three and also issed a pair of walks. He’ll bring a 3.09 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 25/7 K/BB ratio across 32 innings (six starts) into a home outing on Monday against the Twins. • Megill picks up fifth save of the season vs. PIT
Trevor Megill allowed one earned run over one inning while earning the save on Tuesday against the Pirates.

Advice: A Connor Joe home run in the ninth was the lone earned run Megill would give up in this one. The fourth-year vet also struck out two batters in this one and now has five saves on the season. The home run to Joe was the first homer Megill has allowed on the season, and he’s given up just two earned runs over 10 2/3 innings pitched. Sitting on a 1.69 ERA and 0.94 WHIP, Megill has been as solid as they come early in the year. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago
