    • Eight Ks in no-decision
Pivetta came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Rays, allowing two runs on four hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out eight without walking a batter.

Advice: The right-hander generated an impressive 32 called or swinging strikes among his 81 pitches, but both runs off Pivetta came on solo shots by Josh Lowe and Randy Arozarena, with the latter chasing him from the game one out short of his second quality start of the season. Pivetta has served up five homers in two starts since coming off the IL, a worrisome trend, but he'll carry a 3.48 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 22:2 K:BB through 20.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in St. Louis. • Hunter Greene goes seven to win in Arizona
Hunter Greene lasted seven innings and allowed two runs in the Reds’ 6-2 defeat of the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Advice: Greene walked nine in his previous two starts, but he issued just one free pass tonight. He also went without giving up a homer, though Corbin Carroll’s shot to right to lead off the bottom of the first would have been a homer had the game been played in Cincinnati, rather than Arizona. Greene improved to 2-2 with a 3.27 ERA. In spite of his success, the Reds are just 2-7 in his starts. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:52 pm
    • Rhys Hoskins out 2-4 weeks with hamstring strain
Rhys Hoskins will miss 2-4 weeks with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: The timetable comes from Brewers manager Pat Murphy just a few hours after Hoskins landed on the injured list prior to Tuesday’s showdown against the Pirates. It sounds like an MRI on the 31-year-old first baseman’s hamstring revealed merely a low-grade strain. There’s a chance he’s back at some point in early-to-mid June, barring any setbacks. • Nick Pivetta bounces back with solid effort vs TB
Nick Pivetta allowed two runs on four hits in 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rays.

Advice: Pivetta struck out eight on the day while walking none, but he was doomed by two solo home runs. The right-hander got back on track after his rough return from the IL, posting a 29 percent whiff rate and 40 percent CSW. His sweeper was particularly dominant, getting five whiffs on eight swings and posting a 47 percent CSW. Pivetta also threw his curveball 1.3 mph harder than usual and found some success with it, so that’s something to watch for future starts. He’ll take a 3.48 ERA into an appealing start against a reeling Cardinals offense this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:27 pm

    • Lands on IL
The Brewers placed Hoskins on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: Hoskins tweaked his hamstring while running to first base during Monday's game against Pittsburgh and had to come out of the game. He'll now miss at least the next 10 days because of his injury, likely spelling more reps at first base for Jake Bauers and Owen Miller, the latter who was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. • Rhys Hoskins lands on IL with hamstring strain
Brewers placed 1B Rhys Hoskins on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: No word yet on the severity of the injury, but it sounds like the Brewers want to give Hoskins at least a couple days to rest and recover. The 31-year-old slugger was just starting to really heat up again at the dish, so the timing is a bit unfortunate. There should be some clarity on his status in the coming days as it sounds like Milwaukee is still gathering medical information. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:58 pm

    • Could return Friday
Carter (back) received a cortisone injection and is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Guardians, and he could rejoin the lineup Friday versus the Angels, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning Newsreports.

Advice: The 21-year-old hasn't seen the field since Saturday and was diagnosed with lower-back inflammation after an MRI on Monday. He'll now be unavailable for at least a couple more days following the injection. Ezequiel Duran is receiving another start in left field Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:36 pm

    • Absence continuing Tuesday
Turner (illness) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: The 39-year-old will sit for the third consecutive game as he continues to deal with an illness, which has also afflicted teammates Kevin Kiermaier and George Springer, though Kiermaier is back in the lineup Tuesday. Turner should continue to be considered day-to-day heading into Wednesday's series finale in Baltimore. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:27 pm

    • Justin Turner (illness) remains out on Tuesday
Justin Turner (illness) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s contest against the Orioles.

Advice: Turner remains sidelined for the third straight contest due to illness. The 39-year-old veteran remains day-to-day for now. It’ll be Daniel Vogelbach filling in at designated hitter in his absence. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:19 pm
