    • Returns from IL
The Orioles reinstated Means (forearm) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Though manager Brandon Hyde had already noted Monday that Means was on track to rejoin the rotation for this weekend's series in Cincinnati, the Orioles activated him early since the southpaw's 30-day minor-league rehab window officially came to an end. The Orioles placed Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) on the 15-day IL in a corresponding move, so Means' arrival means that the team should have room in the rotation for at least one of Albert Suarez and Cole Irvin, or even both pitchers if Hyde elects to go with a six-man rotation. Means struggled mightily through the first five starts of his rehab stint with Triple-A Norfolk (13.89 ERA, 2.31 WHIP in 11.2 innings), but he closed his minor-league assignment in dominant fashion Sunday, striking out eight over seven shutout innings and allowing just one hit and one walk. He tossed 95 pitches (61 strikes) in the outing and is unlikely to face any major restrictions when he makes his 2024 Orioles debut, likely Friday or Saturday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:46 am
    • Orioles activate John Means (elbow) from 15-day IL
Orioles activated LHP John Means (elbow) from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Means will be a welcomed addition to the Orioles starting rotation after the team had to place Grayson Rodriguez on the injured list Wednesday with a shoulder injury. Means looked solid in his last rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk where he allowed just one hit over seven scoreless innings. If he’s available, he could be a solid addition for fantasy managers in deeper leagues. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:43 am
    • Three hits vs. Miami
McMahon went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Marlins.

Advice: McMahon got the Rockies on the board with an RBI single in the first inning before driving in a second run with a double in the 10th. The 29-year-old McMahon now has hits in six straight games, going 8-for-23 with two doubles and two home runs in that span, on the heels of a 1-for-14 stretch. His slash line is up to .321/.397/.495 on the season with four homers, 18 RBI and 12 runs scored. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:03 am

    • Plates three during win
Turang went 2-for-3 with three RBI, a run scored, a walk and stole a base during Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Rays.

Advice: Turang's RBI single in the second inning drove in Jackson Chourio to give Milwaukee a 2-0 lead, and his seventh-inning double scored another two runs, pushing the score to 8-2. The 24-year-old second baseman continues to look like a reformed hitter, batting .312 through 93 at-bats this season -- a drastic improvement from his .218 average last year -- and his 14 stolen bases rank second in the majors. • Spencer Turnbull solid for 5 1/3 innings
Spencer Turnbull yielded two runs — one earned — in 5 1/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Angels.

Advice: This will likely be Turnbull’s final start for a while, as Taijuan Walker’s return has restored the Phillies’ planned rotation. Still, Turnbull seems like a better bet than Walker going forward, and while it’s unlikely that he’d hold up over the course of 32 starts, he might be a fantasy factor again later this year. For now, he’s probably droppable in shallow mixed leagues. Rotoworld Tuesday, 11:34 pm
    • Another strong start
Turnbull didn't factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and no walks over 5.1 innings against the Angels. He struck out six.

Advice: The only run charged against Turnbull came in the third inning when Zach Neto tagged him for a solo homer. The 31-year-old hasn't allowed more than four hits in a game this season, and with the Phillies expected to trim their six-man rotation back to five now that Taijuan Walker is healthy, Turnbull has certainly made a case for maintaining a starting role. However, after dealing with severe injuries in 2022 and 2023, the Phillies could look to watch his workload early in hopes of keeping him fresh throughout the long season. If Turnbull sticks in the rotation, he'd likely toe the rubber early next week, either in the series finale against the Giants or the series opener against Toronto. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:07 pm
    • Launches third homer
Joe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 5-2 loss to Oakland.

Advice: Joe tagged Alex Wood for a solo shot in the first inning, marking his third long ball in 100 plate appearances this season. He's on pace to exceed his career-high home run total of 11, which he achieved in 472 plate appearances last season. During his last five games, Joe is batting 6-for-19 (.316) with a pair of doubles and Tuesday's home run. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 9:58 pm

    • Assad struggles to miss bats in no decision
Javier Assad allowed one run on five hits in five innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Tuesday.

Advice: Assad didn’t walk a batter on the night, but he had just one strikeout, a seven percent whiff rate, and a 17 percent CSW. He had just three whiffs on 45 swings in the game and all three of them came on version of a fastball. Assad doesn’t have overpowering stuff, but he can mix and match the shapes and movement on his fastball and has a deep six-pitch arsenal that keeps hitters off balance. That worked tonight and it’s worked for much of the season as evidenced by his 1.97 ERA, but it’s a risky tightrope to walk. He’s still worth starting in most formats while he’s going well, but he can possibly be benched in shallower leagues with weekend against the Brewers. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:20 pm

    • Turang drives in three as Brewers down Rays
Brice Turang went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI, and a run scored in Tuesday’s win over the Rays.

Advice: Turang singled in the second inning to bring home Jackson Chourio, giving the Brewers an early 2-0 lead, but that was just the start of a strong night for the young second baseman. Turang would later double in the seventh inning, driving in two more runs to put the Brewers up 8-2. Turang has upped his RBI total to 12 on the season and his hitting a solid .312 through the first month of the season.
