    • Out with hamstring strain
The Dodgers placed Phillips on the 15-day injured list Sunday, retroactive to May 4, with a right hamstring strain, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

Advice: The right-hander presumably suffered the injury during Friday's appearance against Atlanta, when he struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning amid a 2-2 tie. Manager Dave Roberts said Phillips' injury is a Grade 1 strain, per David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports, so the absence may not be a lengthy one. Daniel Hudson is the likely favorite to fill in at closer for the Dodgers. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago

    • Dodgers place Phillips on IL with hamstring injury
Dodgers placed RHP Evan Phillips on the 15-day injured list with a hamstring strain.

Advice: This is a substantial loss to the Dodgers’ bullpen and for fantasy managers who roster Phillips. The right-hander will be out of action for at least two weeks, and managers will want to make sure to follow for further updates on his status. Blake Treinen was activated off the injured list in the corresponding transaction, and he’s someone who could see save chances with Phillips out. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago

    • Picks up first hold Saturday
Duran gave up a hit and struck out two in a scoreless eighth inning Saturday to record his first hold of the season in a 3-1 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: The right-hander got the call to face the heart of Boston's order in the eighth rather than being held back for the save chance, and he got the job done without issue. Cole Sands then worked the ninth inning for the save. Duran had only one hold last season along with his 27 saves, and Twins manager Rocco Baldelli typically favors set roles in his bullpen over playing matchups in high-leverage spots, so there's no reason yet to assume this is a sign Duran will see less ninth-inning work than expected. He's appeared in three games since making his season debut Tuesday, posting a 5:0 K:BB over three scoreless frames and collecting saves in the other two contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:56 pm
    • Jhoan Duran fans two in earning second save
Jhoan Duran pitched a perfect ninth with two strikeouts for his second save Friday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Duran threw 11 pitches tonight and got five missed swings. His CSW was an absurd 64%, and he’s still just settling in after missing a month with a strained oblique. Rotoworld Friday, 8:56 pm
    • Slams door for save
Duran struck out two batters in a perfect inning to earn a save over the Red Sox on Friday.

Advice: Duran needed just 11 pitches to quickly retire the middle third of Boston's lineup. He's struck out three batters while grabbing a pair of saves in two appearances since returning from the injured list. The 26-year-old posted terrific numbers last season -- 2.45 ERA and 12.1 K/9 through 62.1 innings -- and should see plenty of save chances in 2024. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:17 pm
    • Alex Lange gets four-out save against Cardinals
Alex Lange got four outs for his second save Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Jason Foley had pitched three of the previous four days, so Lange got the call today. Since giving up five unearned runs in the 12th inning in a loss on Apr. 13, Lange has pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings with a 9/2 K/BB ratio in seven appearances. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:08 pm

    • Snags second save
Lange earned the save in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Cardinals, recording two strikeouts and a walk over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Advice: Lange struck out Willson Contreras for the final out in the eighth inning before closing the door in the ninth, working around a two-out walk to Paul Goldschmidt for his second save this season. Jason Foley was likely unavailable Wednesday after pitching three of the last four days, though Lange has continued to pitch well in a set-up role -- he's held opponents scoreless in his last 7.2 innings, allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out nine in that span. The 28-year-old right-hander lowered his ERA to 0.75 with a 1.17 WHIP 16:9 K:BB across 12 innings this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:05 pm

    • Collects save in season debut
Duran gave up one hit and struck out a batter during a scoreless ninth inning to pick up the save during Tuesday's 6-5 win over the White Sox.

Advice: In his first appearance since being reinstated from the injured list, Duran picked up right where he left off last season. He allowed a leadoff single to Tommy Pham before retiring the next three batters, ending the game with a four-pitch strikeout of Andrew Vaughn. It wasn't clear heading into Tuesday's game whether or not Duran would immediately slide back into the closer role after missing the first month of the season, but it appears manager Rocco Baldelli will trust the 26-year-old righty to work the ninth inning going forward. • Reinstated Tuesday, as expected
The Twins activated Duran (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Minnesota will finally have its closer healthy and available after Duran missed the first month of the season due to an oblique strain. The right-hander labored a bit during his first rehab outing, but he looked like himself during his second and final appearance Saturday, as he averaged 101.8 mph with his fastball. Manager Rocco Baldelli hasn't officially indicated whether or not Duran will immediately slot back in as the Twins' closer, but he seems likely to get ninth-inning chances sooner than later.
