    • Back from injured list
The Giants reinstated Bailey from the 7-day concussion injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Bailey was cleared to return to the field Tuesday, so the Giants will waste no time bringing back their catcher who has slashed .280/.340/.451 through 95 plate appearances this season. Curt Casali will be the one starting behind the plate Tuesday against Martin Perez and the Pirates, but Bailey is sure to return to the lineup sooner rather than later. Blake Sabol was optioned to Double-A Richmond in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 3:34 pm
    • Giants activate Patrick Bailey on Tuesday
Giants activated C Patrick Bailey from the 7-day concussion injured list.

Advice: Bailey rejoins San Francisco’s active roster literally minutes prior to first pitch on Tuesday night against the Pirates. The 24-year-old backstop resumed baseball activities last weekend after being evaluated by a concussion specialist and should take over the catching duties for the Giants in short order. • Elias Díaz returns to lineup Tuesday vs. A’s
Elias Díaz (hand) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Athletics.

Advice: Díaz is back handling the catching duties for Colorado in Oakland following a four-game absence due to left hand soreness. The 33-year-old backstop was battling the ongoing issue for a couple weeks, so the hope here is that the extended layoff helps put the issue behind him. Rotoworld Today, 2:57 pm

    • Returns to lineup
Diaz (hand) is in the Rockies' lineup Tuesday versus the Athletics.

Advice: Diaz missed four consecutive games for the Rockies due to a hand injury, and he had an additional day to recover with the team day off Monday. Jacob Stallings was starting in his place, but the former will return to the bench Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 2:33 pm

    • Cleared to return to action
Bailey (concussion) was cleared to return to action after being examined by Dr. Mickey Collins on Tuesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Collins, who is a concussion expert, cleared Bailey for baseball activities this past Friday and has now given the go-ahead for the catcher to play in games. While the Giants have not yet made a roster move involving Bailey, it would appear imminent. The 24-year-old has played just one game since May 4 because of concussion issues. • Yainer Diaz does 2-for-4, scores twice in loss
Yainer Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI against the Angels on Monday.

Advice: Diaz was also robbed of a possible homer by Jo Adell at the right field wall in the ninth. That was actually his softest hit ball of the night. His EVs in the game were 110.7 mph, 107.8 mph, 103.7 mph and 98.4 mph. His hard-hit rate now stands at 51%, which is particularly impressive in combination with a 14% strikeout rate. • Still sitting Sunday
Diaz (hand) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: It's the fourth straight absence for Diaz as he continues to nurse a hand injury. He'll have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery ahead of Tuesday's series opener in Oakland. Jacob Stallings will work behind the plate Sunday for Colorado. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:28 am

    • Elias Díaz remains out Sunday with hand injury
Elias Díaz (hand) is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Giants.

Advice: Díaz is dealing with left-handed soreness, and the Rockies will give the 33-year-old at least one more day off. Jacob Stallings is back in the lineup and hitting ninth while handling the backstop duties. Rotoworld Sunday, 9:40 am

    • Gets break Sunday
Diaz is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against Milwaukee.

Advice: The 25-year-old will cede catching duties to Victor Caratini as the Astros finish out their series against the Brewers. Diaz has started four of the last five games for Houston, going 3-for-18 with three RBI in that stretch. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:31 am
