      Tommy Edman (wrist) was able to take batting practice from the left side of the plate for the first time on Friday.

      Advice: Edman is already eligible to be activated from the 60-day injured list, but he’s still not close to being ready. The fact that he’s now able to face live pitching from both sides of the plate though is an encouraging sign and perhaps a minor league rehab assignment could be in the cards soon.     • Report: Blue Jays have interest in Ryan McMahon
      According to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi, the Rockies are unlikely to move Ryan McMahon this summer, though the Blue Jays and other clubs have interest in him.

      Advice: McMahon has busted out or at least enjoyed an extended hot streak this season, coming in at .286/.366/.483 to date. That’s a 135 OPS+ from a guy who has never before topped 100 in a season. Still, the Rockies, who have McMahon signed through 2027, have never heard of the concept of selling high.       Advice: McMahon popped his 10th home run of the season in the first inning, and half of those long balls have come in his last 10 starts. In that span, he's scored 10 runs and driven in 11 while hitting .268.       Ryan McMahon went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in a win over the Phillies on Sunday.

      Advice: McMahon is having one of the least-talked-about strong seasons of any player in baseball. The 29-year-old is slashing .294/.377/.500 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI on the year.
