    Alex Bregman has been dropped to sixth in the Astros’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s battle against Carlos Rodon and the Yankees.

    Advice: It’s the first time all season that the slumping third baseman has hit lower than fourth in the Astros’ lineup. That’s what happens when you hit .195/.275/.260 with just one homer and 11 RBI through your first 138 plate appearances.     Advice: Pivetta will rejoin the Red Sox' rotation Wednesday with a start against Atlanta. The right-hander has been sidelined since April 9 with a right elbow flexor strain but was cleared to return after making one rehab start.     Gallo (shoulder) went 0-for-4 with a walk, a run and an RBI on Tuesday in a rehab game for Triple-A Syracuse.

    Advice: Gallo went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and three walks between a pair of rehab games for Single-A Fredericksburg over the weekend and received the green light to move his assignment to a higher-level affiliate. He served as Syracuse's designated hitter Tuesday but could see action at first base and in the corner outfield for the remainder of his rehab assignment.   • Out 4-to-6 weeks
    Reds manager David Bell said that Encarnacion-Strand, who was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday, is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks after tests revealed a new fracture in his right wrist, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

    Advice: Initial imaging after Encarnacion-Strand was hit on the hand by a pitch late last month came back clean, but subsequent tests revealed a right ulnar styloid fracture. The 24-year-old has hit a disappointing .190/.220/.293 with two home runs in 29 games for the Reds this season. Cincinnati will turn to Jeimer Candelario to replace Encarnacion-Strand at first base in Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, while Santiago Espinal enters the lineup at first base. The 23-year-old hurler made a pair of minor league rehab starts at Triple-A Durham where he posted a minuscule 0.82 ERA, 0.46 WHIP and a 15/3 K/BB ratio across 11 innings of work.     Rays placed RHP Ryan Pepiot on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 6, with a left lower leg contusion.

    Advice: Taj Bradley was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move and will make his 2024 regular season debut on Friday against the Yankees. Fortunately for fantasy managers, Pepiot should only need a minimum stint on the injured list and should be ready to jump right back into the Rays’ rotation when that time comes.
