    • Dodgers activate Bobby Miller for Wednesday return
Dodgers activated RHP Bobby Miller from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: The 25-year-old hurler will make his triumphant return to the hill against the Rockies at Coors Field on Wednesday. He made four starts in the minor leagues while he was building back up, registering a 7.80 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and a 10/8 K/BB ratio over 15 frames. Given the venue, fantasy managers may want to take a wait-and-see approach before reinserting Miller back into lineups. Rotoworld Today, 2:11 pm

    • Kyle Bradish undergoes Tommy John surgery
The Orioles announced on Wednesday that Kyle Bradish underwent successful Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery with an internal brace procedure on Wednesday in Dallas.

Advice: The 27-year-old right-hander will obviously miss the remainder of the 2024 season and will miss at least the first half of the 2025 campaign as well while recovering from the surgery. Fantasy managers in season-long leagues can safely cut bait now. He finishes the 2024 season with a 2.75 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 53/15 K/BB ratio over 39 1/3 innings in his eight starts. • Undergoes Tommy John surgery
Bradish underwent Tommy John surgery with an internal brace Wednesday, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Advice: Bradish was first diagnosed with a partial UCL tear in his elbow in mid-February, and while his initial rehab was successful -- he posted a 2.75 ERA and 53:15 K:BB over 39.1 innings covering eight starts -- he recent had a setback and the decision was made to have the surgery. Orioles general manager Mike Elias said Wednesday that he expects Bradish to miss 12-to-18 months, leaving the right-hander's 2025 season in doubt. Rotowire.com Today, 2:06 pm

    • Settles for no-decision Wednesday
Suarez came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Padres, allowing one run on six hits over six innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.

Advice: The lefty was sharp as he delivered his 10th quality start of the season, firing 67 of 94 pitches for strikes, but he was locked in a pitchers' duel with Matt Waldron until the Phillies' bullpen and defense faltered after Suarez left the mound. The 28-year-old will take a 1.75 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 95:19 K:BB through 92.1 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Detroit. • Danny Coulombe has bone chips removed from elbow
Danny Coulombe underwent a successful procedure to have bone chips removed from his left elbow.

Advice: The 34-year-old southpaw is hopeful that he’ll be able to return to the Orioles’ bullpen at some point in September. Before landing on the injured list with left elbow inflammation, Coulombe had registered an outsanding 2.42 ERA, 0.62 WHIP and a 28/3 K/BB ratio over 26 innings in 29 appearances out of the O’s bullpen this season. • Dean Kremer to make rehab start on Saturday
Dean Kremer (triceps) will make his next minor league rehab start at Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

Advice: Kremer went just 3 2/3 innings in his first rehab start, allowing five runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk while striking out three. It’s likely that the Orioles will want him to go around five innings in Saturday’s start. If all goes well there, he could potentially be cleared to rejoin the O’s rotation next week. • Collects 18th save
Suarez struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to record his 18th save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Phillies.

Advice: One day after blowing his first save chance of the season, Suarez was back in his usual form, firing nine of 13 pitches for strikes as he shut down the Phillies' 6-7-8 hitters. The 33-year-old right-hander came into 2024 with only one career save, but he's having a breakout campaign as the Padres' closer, posting a 1.17 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 29:6 K:BB through 30.2 innings. • Sharp in fifth win
Waldron (5-6) picked up the win in Wednesday's 5-2 victory over the Phillies, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Aside from a Bryce Harper solo shot in the third inning, Waldron shut down the Phillies' offense over a season-high 104 pitches (64 strikes). The knuckleballer reeled off his fifth straight quality start, a stretch in which he's produced a dazzling 1.35 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 24:6 K:BB through 33.1 innings. Waldron will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Nationals. Rotowire.com Today, 1:49 pm

    • Takes part in pregame throwing
Fairbanks (thumb) was spotted throwing long toss and playing catch on the field prior to Wednesday's game in Minnesota, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The Rays haven't disclosed whether Fairbanks will be available out of the bullpen Wednesday, but his ability to take part in some pregame throwing work one day after being lifted from his appearance in Tuesday's 7-6 loss at least offers hope that he'll avoid a stint on the injured list. After being struck in his pitching hand by a 103 mile-per-hour comebacker off the bat of Carlos Correa, Fairbanks was diagnosed with a bruised right thumb after X-rays returned negative.
