    • Chris Sale’s dominance continues against Giants
Chris Sale struck out nine batters across six innings in a 3-1 win over the Giants on Wednesday while allowing just one run. He walked two batters and earned his league-leading 11th win of the season.

Advice: Once again, Sale was magnificent in this start. The Giants were helpless against his vaunted slider as it earned five swings-and-misses and an additional 12 called strikes. He was ahead in the count all night and showed a willingness to use that slider in whatever count he needed it. His 11th win tied Seth Lugo for the league lead and he could be well on his way to his first Cy Young award at 35-years-old. What a remarkable season it’s been for Sale. Rotoworld 53 minutes ago
    • Jorge Soler doubles, scores against former team
Jorge Soler went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored on Wednesday against the Braves.

Advice: Soler seems to enjoy hitting lead-off. He’s hit safely in five straight games with six extra-base hits over that span since being put back atop the order. He’s very slowly gotten his feet wet after a miserable start to the season and we know how hot he can get once he finds his groove. Rotoworld 56 minutes ago
    • Austin Riley hits key two-run double
Austin Riley went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and run scored against the Giants on Wednesday.

Advice: Riley’s fifth inning double off Jordan Hicks proved to be a decisive blow in this one. All in all, he had three batted balls hit at least 98.5 MPH and has pulled his OPS all the way up to .760 on the season. Rotoworld 56 minutes ago
    • Cole Irvin removed from Orioles’ starting rotation
Orioles’ manager Brandon Hyde told reporters on Wednesday that Cole Irvin will work out of the team’s bullpen going forward.

Advice: Someone needed to get the boot with Dean Kremer returning on Wednesday, and with Cade Povich and Albert Suarez pitching well and Irvin struggling recently, the writing had been on the wall. The 30-year-old hurler will settle into a long-relief role until another injury strikes the O’s rotation or they require an extra starter. Rotoworld Today, 5:56 pm

    • Relegated to bullpen
Manager Brandon Hyde said Wednesday that Irvin will pitch out of the bullpen going forward, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Advice: The decision to move Irvin to the bullpen comes after he allowed five runs in 3.2 innings during his most recent start Sunday against the Rangers, giving him a 10.22 ERA over 12.1 innings across his last three starts. Hyde noted there is still a possibility that the 30-year-old southpaw returns to the rotation at some point, but he would likely need to string together several solid performances out of the bullpen before that happens. • Corey Seager added to Rangers lineup on Wednesday
Corey Seager (hand) was added to the Rangers’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s battle against the Padres.

Advice: As manager Bruce Bochy had alluded to earlier in the day, Seager checked out good and was a late addition to the Rangers’ lineup. Jonathan Ornelas — who had been scheduled to start at third base — was scratched from the lineup with Josh Smith shifting back from shortstop to third base. Rotoworld Today, 3:51 pm
    • Returns to lineup Wednesday
Seager (wrist) is starting at shortstop and batting second in Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Seager missed the last two games after being struck in the left wrist by a pitch Saturday against Baltimore. He was originally slated to begin Wednesday's game in the dugout, but Seager will return to the starting lineup, bumping Josh Smith to third base and Jonathan Ornelas to the bench. • Progressing, could play Wednesday
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Seager (wrist) is feeling "a lot better" and will talk with the shortstop to see if he's doing well enough to play Wednesday against the Padres, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 30-year-old is currently absent from Texas' starting nine for Wednesday's contest, but there's apparently a chance he's a late addition to the lineup. Regardless of whether or not Seager ends up starting the game, it's an encouraging development for his availability going forward. Rotowire.com Today, 2:26 pm
    • Corey Seager (hand) out of Rangers initial lineup
Corey Seager (hand) is not in the Rangers’ initial starting lineup for Wednesday night’s showdown against the Padres.

Advice: Rangers’ skipper Bruce Bochy did say that he’ll talk to Seager before the game though and that there’s a chance he could still be added to the lineup. Either way, that bodes well for his status going forward as he seems very close to a return. Expect him back in action on Thursday if he doesn’t talk his way into Wednesday’s lineup.
