    • Serves up two homers in loss
Daniel (1-1) took the loss against the Athletics on Wednesday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Daniel allowed baserunners in five of the six frames in which he appeared and was finally chased from the game after giving up solo homers in both the fifth and sixth innings. The right-hander was unable to recreate the magic from his first start when he shut out the Tigers over eight frames, though he'll look to rebound next week when the Angels travel back home to take on the Rangers. • Logs hit in return
Seager went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the Padres.

Advice: Seager, who had been dealing with a wrist injury, was a late addition to the starting lineup and was back at his normal shortstop position, batting second. He had missed the previous two games after getting hit by a pitch on the left wrist last Saturday. Rotowire.com Today, 5:11 am

    • Davis Daniel hit for five runs in loss to A’s
Davis Daniel allowed five runs -- four earned -- with three strikeouts across 5 1/3 innings in a loss against the Athletics on Wednesday.

Advice: After a scoreless first inning, Daniel gave up two singles in the second before a run scored on a throwing error. The A’s brought another run in on a double-steal. Max Schuemann added a run with a solo homer in the fifth, then Brent Rooker followed with a solo blast to lead off the sixth. Daniel left the sixth inning with two runners on and one out. One inherited runner came in to score. The 27-year-old right-hander ended the day with a 2.70 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and an 11/1 K/BB ratio across 13 1/3 innings. He’s currently in line for a start against the Rangers in Anaheim on Monday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:02 pm
    • Dominant in Wednesday's win
Sale (11-3) allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out nine over six innings to earn the win over the Giants on Wednesday.

Advice: Sale has allowed just one run in each of his last three starts, though he was unlucky to come away with just two wins in that span. His 11 wins rank first in the National League, and Sale is tied with Kansas City's Seth Lugo for the major-league lead. Sale is now at a 2.71 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 127:19 K:BB through 99.2 innings over 16 starts this season. The southpaw's next start is projected to be on the road in Arizona. • William Contreras collects three hits vs. Rockies
William Contreras went 3-for-4 against the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: The All-Star catcher just keeps hitting. Contreras collected three base hits against the Rockies on Wednesday, though didn’t have a run or RBI to show for it. The 26-year-old catcher is slashing an outstanding .297/.357/.449 with 10 homers, 59 runs scored, 51 RBI and five steals across 378 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:17 pm
    • Chris Sale’s dominance continues against Giants
Chris Sale struck out nine batters across six innings in a 3-1 win over the Giants on Wednesday while allowing just one run. He walked two batters and earned his league-leading 11th win of the season.

Advice: Once again, Sale was magnificent in this start. The Giants were helpless against his vaunted slider as it earned five swings-and-misses and an additional 12 called strikes. He was ahead in the count all night and showed a willingness to use that slider in whatever count he needed it. His 11th win tied Seth Lugo for the league lead and he could be well on his way to his first Cy Young award at 35-years-old. What a remarkable season it’s been for Sale. • Jorge Soler doubles, scores against former team
Jorge Soler went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored on Wednesday against the Braves.

Advice: Soler seems to enjoy hitting lead-off. He’s hit safely in five straight games with six extra-base hits over that span since being put back atop the order. He’s very slowly gotten his feet wet after a miserable start to the season and we know how hot he can get once he finds his groove. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:00 pm

    • Austin Riley hits key two-run double
Austin Riley went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and run scored against the Giants on Wednesday.

Advice: Riley’s fifth inning double off Jordan Hicks proved to be a decisive blow in this one. All in all, he had three batted balls hit at least 98.5 MPH and has pulled his OPS all the way up to .760 on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:59 pm

    • Cole Irvin removed from Orioles’ starting rotation
Orioles’ manager Brandon Hyde told reporters on Wednesday that Cole Irvin will work out of the team’s bullpen going forward.

Advice: Someone needed to get the boot with Dean Kremer returning on Wednesday, and with Cade Povich and Albert Suarez pitching well and Irvin struggling recently, the writing had been on the wall. The 30-year-old hurler will settle into a long-relief role until another injury strikes the O’s rotation or they require an extra starter. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:56 pm
