    • Cruises to eighth win
Wheeler (8-3) picked up the win in Tuesday's 4-1 victory over the Red Sox, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Two of the hits came on the first two batters he faced as Boston pushed across a run in the bottom of the first inning, but Wheeler shut the opposition down the rest of the way. The right-hander exited after 88 pitches (59 strikes) with his fifth straight quality start and 11th of the season, putting him in a tie for the major-league lead with four other pitchers. Wheeler will take a 2.16 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 95:27 K:BB through 87.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in Baltimore. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:06 am

    • Rocked by Yankees
Singer (4-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Yankees, allowing seven runs (six earned) on seven hits and a walk across 5.2 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Singer was in trouble from the start, allowing a triple to Anthony Volpe on just his second pitch of the day as part of a two-run first inning for the Yankees. Singer had more issues in the fourth, when Austin Wells launched a three-run home run to plate Giancarlo Stanton and Gleyber Torres to give New York a 6-0 lead. The 27-year-old's seven runs allowed marked a season high and he failed to complete six innings for the fifth time in his last six starts. He'll have another tough draw for his next start, with a road matchup with Dodgers set for Sunday. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:08 pm

    • Singer allows six earned runs in loss to Yankees
Brady Singer allowed six earned runs over 5 2/3 innings while striking out six in Tuesday’s loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Singer gave up two runs in the first inning, but it was a four-run fourth that caused most of the damage. Gleyber Torres singled in the fourth to drive in Alex Verdugo, but a three-run homer by Alex Wells on the ensuing at-bat put this one well out of reach. Singer has allowed five or more runs in just two of his 13 outings this season and will look to rebound in his next start, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Dodgers. • Falls out shy of quality start
Eflin allowed two runs on seven hits over 5.2 innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Cubs. He struck out three.

Advice: Eflin was solid Tuesday, holding Chicago to one run on a Christopher Morel homer through his first five innings. However, he'd ultimately depart with two outs in the sixth before the Rays' bullpen would allow an inherited runner to score. Eflin has now allowed four runs in 9.2 innings over two starts since returning from a brief stay on the injured list. Overall, he's 3-4 with a 4.06 ERA,1.15 WHIP and 50:4 K:BB across 12 starts (68.2 innings). Eflin is currently scheduled to face Atlanta on the road in his next outing. • Zach Eflin survives 5 2/3 innings in start
Zach Eflin allowed two runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Tuesday.

Advice: Eflin struck out three and walked none and gave up just one extra-base hit on the day. It just happened to be a home run to Christopher Morel. Eflin got just six whiffs on 41 swings for a 15 percent whiff rate and 23 percent CSW on the afternoon. The Cubs didn’t square anything up, but it feels a bit like Eflin was lucky to get out of the game with just two runs allowed. He’ll take a 4.06 ERA into a tough showdown against the Braves this weekend. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:18 pm

    • Zack Wheeler contains Red Sox over seven innings
Zack Wheeler allowed one run on three hits over seven innings in a win over the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: Wheeler struck out four and walked one, so it wasn’t an overpowering outing, but he also allowed just one extra-base hit and an average exit velocity on balls in play of just 79 mph. Wheeler induced just five whiffs on 43 swings for a 12 percent whiff rate and 24 percent CSW. He’ll now take a 2.16 ERA into a tough showdown this weekend against the Orioles. • Hit hard in loss
Mazur (0-1) took the loss Sunday against the Diamondbacks, allowing eight runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out two over three innings.

Advice: Mazur was hit hard in just his second MLB start. The Diamondbacks scratched a run against him in the first but did most of their damage in the second when they piled on six runs, which was capped off by a two-run blast by Jake McCarthy. Mazur was able to pitch a clean third but was lifted after allowing a leadoff walk in the fourth and that runner would eventually come around to score. Mazur is known for his elite command of the strike zone but has now walked seven batters over his first nine big-league innings and is showing some early jitters. He'll look to turn things around in a road matchup against the Mets over the weekend. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:13 am

    • Adam Mazur obliterated in loss to Diamondbacks
Adam Mazur was obliterated in a losing effort against the Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon, surrendering eight runs on eight hits in his three-plus innings of work.

Advice: Mazur walked three batters while striking out two in the ballgame. The Diamondbacks scratched out a run against him in the opening inning, then piled on with six in the second — capped off by a two-run blast off the bat of Jake McCarthy. Mazur settled in to work a scoreless third inning, but was lifted after allowing a leadoff walk in the fourth — and that run came around to score as well. With a 9.00 ERA and 1.89 WHIP over nine innings in his first two starts, fantasy managers may want to steer clear of Saturday’s matchup against the Mets in New York. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:20 pm

    • So-so in no-decision
Jones did not factor into the decision Sunday against Minnesota, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks in five innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Jones struggled to find his footing early, allowing all three of his runs in a shaky first inning during which he walked two batters and allowed the bases to be loaded with just one out. The 22-year-old rookie was able to settle in afterward, but his control has been a minor cause of concern recently -- Sunday was his fourth consecutive game allowing multiple walks. In that span, Jones has compiled a 4.25 ERA, a 1.46 WHIP and a meager 16:11 K:BB over 21.2 innings. Jones is still an excellent fantasy option, although he will be tested in his next start, currently scheduled for next weekend at Coors Field in Colorado. Rotowire.com Sunday, 3:43 pm
